Which is exactly what the POTUS and the Senate did.

LoL. Obama DID call an end to debt limit hikes when Junior was POTUS. Odd that the hypocrite when consider debt limit hikes back then unpatriotic.

It was political grand-standing on Cruz's part. He started the speech knowing that there would still be a vote, as did every American that doesn't get their news from Harry Reid. LoL.
Shall we send out a set of St Bernards to bring you down off of Spin Mtn?

How's it going Vic?

Again I say Obama should have heeded Ted's advice, now the Obama administration is thinking about postponing Obama care for a year, the internet sign ups are less than 1% because the networks are spastic!
Obamacare is defeating itself!
Watch it come up again on the deficit increase when the Feb.7 deadline hits!
Go Ted!

Fortunately for America he didn't!!

And factoid they can't get things done in regular channel because they are not representing the majority of ppl therefore they do not hold enough elected seats.

Creating and passing bills they know will not pass the senate is simply wasting everyone's time and tax payers dollars.

As you stated they knew the bills wouldn't pass so they were intentionally and knowingly wasting time. What a childish plan! How did that work out for them. Oh yeah not very well. They did nothing more than make themself even more hated then they all ready were!

That is an example of the brinksmanship the credit scoring agency was talking about in their report. The repubs were what was hurting America's standing not our economy or the debt or the deficit. not the president and not the liberals. The shenanigans of a few crazies almost caused Americas credit rating to drop.

Why was it okay for the Senate to pass bills that they knew would not pass in the house? You call out the house, but don't call out the Senate? That's called being a hypocritic or a hack, take your pick.

Nice revisionist history…

What the senate and President did was say we want a bill that is 100% our way and if you don’t give us such a bill or sign a bill that is 100% our way, we won’t sign it. We will let the government shut down. We will default on our debt. We will take the whole ship down. We won’t compromise … we won’t negotiate. We won’t let you have any say. We don’t care if it ruins this nation. It’s our way or the highway. You seem to think this is a good way to govern.

Fortunately for you, for the sake of the greater good, the republicans actually gave in to the babies, rather than risk defaulting on debt and keeping the government shut down. They could have said f’ you … two can play that game … we won’t sign any bill unless it is 100% our way.

Enjoy this while it lasts. In a few months we will do the same dance and I doubt republicans will cave that time. The only person who will be to blame will be Obama if democrats continue to stomp their feet and demand everything be 100% their way. When the democrats control the house, the senate and the presidency, they can have it 100% their way, until then they have to compromise or everyone will suffer.

The republicans gain nothing by continuing to cave. Democrat hacks aren't going to start voting for them just because they caved. And republican voters and independent voters who are sick and tired of the reckless spending in Washington aren't going to re-elect republican representatives who act like democrats and support legislation that is 100% pro-democrat.

as I posted to Vic1 just prior: "Remarkably, conservative delusion about facts on the ground is more intense than ever. The appetite for stories like the one Cruz is telling is unending, impervious to facts and sustainable no matter how far the Republican Party's poll numbers fall."

The grown-ups in Congress finally prevailed, although they are also responsible for allowing the brats-wing to delay for about 2 months. That delay even included Reid following Senate rules as a grown-up that provided the platform for Cruz's 'egg and ham'.

Without intentional irony really, the lead grown-up circus elephants weren't very successful in getting some of these 'wild ones' to hook up trunk-to-tail. No, the 'wild ones' insisted on a narcissistic masturbatory orgy.

Among more not documented on these pages, Vic1 chronicled this:

http://www.topix.com/forum/news/weird/THNEJ1L...

presaging those were these gems from Indiana teapublicans:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2013/10/...

http://hoh.rollcall.com/marlin-stutzman-attem...
“We’re not going to be disrespected. We have to get something out of this. And I don’t know what that even is,”

then there is more delusion here:

http://news.yahoo.com/tea-party-claiming-vict...

For the 'wild ones', all of this delusional rhetoric strung on cord are mental Ben Wa balls which results in a procession of each teapublcian holding the cord of the one preceeding. A 'special' circus train, if you will.

Ted Cruz' speech wasn't a filibuster. You might want to read some reliable sources and stop listening to what the government-closing Democrats tell you to believe.
It wasn't a 'technical' filibuster, no. Only with respect to a true filibuster being meant to stall legislation. Cruz wasn't doing that. Never mind the Left started accusing him of that AFTER THE FACT. Took them awhile to read that far down in their playbook, I guess.
