A noted observer, I apologize for calling you an imbecile, that wasn't nice. Actually I really enjoyed our little parlay on differences. Isn't it amazing how people see things differently?

I am speaking for the working poor here.....The true reality is, I work full time.(Not in the fast food field) and am a supervisor. I am better off than my employees. I may or may not qualify for assistance, I have not checked other than the school lunch program. I will tell you this much. I support myself and my kids. I PROUDLY buy meat out of the reduced bin and many other close date and outdated items with my wages. I look at what other people have,(cars, houses, phones ,etc) I am happy that those things make them happy, but, know that I do not need them. Do not bash me because you think I can do better, you have not lived my life. My life is good. All I am saying is that while some people abuse the system.(Yes, I acknowledge that they do, I personally know several people who get all they can.) There are many of us out here busting our butts and working hard ---PROUDLY not using the system.

We're on the same page here and regarding my previous post ... about the working poor. I am not of that mindset I wrote about.

<quoted text>And what would be 'wrong' with you or others being paid more for your work?
Nothing, I know that I make money for the company that I work for. I know that I go above and beyond my job description. I know that I am worth more than I get paid. In my opinion the problem lies with management. When my bosses BONUS is more than triple my annual salary, something is wrong. My employees and I work hard, do with as little as possible and yes, illegal as it is I work at least 15 hrs a week off the clock. That makes us profitable and gives the company a good profit zone. But that is what's wrong, companies should pay the bottom more and not have bonuses for management. This would make the working person comfortable and if I can get by on only me wages, then why can't management? After all they have higher wages to begin with.

IMHO, people have always abused the system. It IS the Federal Government, right? Unable to police itself, or help itself from buying votes by giving away money to dependant voters?

Both parties are guilty of this, but the current powers that be are running wide open in order to continue to keep themselves in charge. Gotta smooth the way for Billary and 4/8 more years of what we have now.

Hey. The GOP would be doing whatever it took to keep THEMSELVES in power.

Politics. It's what's for dinner.

I don't think anyone would turn down more money BUT I do feel if you want to make more than your average burger flipper, you should get a job that pays more than your average burger flipper.

I know people who are high school drop outs, are routinely unemployed and have no skills whatsoever (other than whining) that feel entitled to make $15/hour. Do I feel they're worth it? No I don't. If they want to make more than minimum wage they should try a little harder.

Gonna tell ya there were a few times as a child that my mother had custody of me. Some of my favorite memories are of going home during lunch period in 7th grade and making government cheese & miracle whip sandwiches.

(My mom was one of those entitled people who refused to work. Not because she couldn't but because she wouldn't. She was the main reason my parents divorced. I didn't see it then but I saw it clearly a few years later. I grew up telling myself I would never be like that.)

It has to do with who pays for it.
The government pays for it, dopey. This your first time in America? We're a big time country here!
So this is what propped Uh Clem for because it would seem you think the gov. has its own special money set aside for the president to use for his vacations when it in fact comes from taxes paid by you and I which Clem stated that to you. You don't wish to discuss anything if it proves contradictory to something you said, instead you choose to prove how much smarter you believe you are with your derogatory statements to others.
So I may not know the complete definition of civics although I have an idea and no I don't think its a honda. You see I am one of the folks your actually defending who never received a college education and has struggled my whole life to make it in this world by using my hands to do the shit nobody else wants to. And I'm pretty sure you aren't able to tell me what it takes to pull 79,000 pounds up a hill or how to to go down a steep grade without losing your breaks, " good buddy" I'm also doubting you understand what that term means as well. Either way, civilized discussion requires respect for one another and not " your just a dumbass " attitude. I deal with public communications every day as required by my job and judging by your communication skills I can honestly say you would fail miserably and wouldn't last long at my job. No I don't think you care, just making a statement.

<quoted text>Instead, worse? What a bizarre story!
What's bizarre is your belief that we should just give folks more because they want it rather than have people better themselves and earn it.

BTW - I'm not "worse" than people on welfare. I'm better. Better because I EARN my own money and pay my own way.**(no disrespect meant to those who have truely fallen on hard times)**. I may not be as comfortable as people on welfare because I don't have "guaranteed" food, shelter, insurance, cash, etc but from what I see most people on welfare are broke within days of getting their money anyway. I know each and every Friday, I'm going to get paid for my hard work.

At least I can say I TRY and I don't make excuses for not working and no I don't feel "entitled" to more. I know there are better jobs out there and if I want one I could seek one.

In the case of *many*(not all) welfare people it's just sheer laziness and entitlement (I'm not working, I'm going to stay home and "take care" of my 5 kids -which btw they shouldn't have had if they couldn't have afforded in the first place but to many welfare lifers having a kid is guaranteed income- or I'm too good to work at McDonalds even though I have no skills).

I'm not below taking a menial job if it means feeding my family and there have been times I've worked two jobs to do that.

Maybe you're one of those people who feels entitled to "more" without earning it and that's why you're so staunch about it but I think there are more people out there like me than there are people like you.

Are all blacks that much out of touch with the 'real world'?
You can bet your bibbies they are!
They're getting the "Obamafreebes"!
The really sad thing about it all whether black, white, yellow, or brown is it's not considered as a handout any more : it's a you owe 'me'!: thing cause I'm poor.
And to make it worse Obama thinks so too!

I like the way you think. We are responsible for our fate in life and if we are rich or poor looking in the mirror will so you who is responsible. It is easier to get rich in America than anywhere else
