"All of you", when a poster makes that kind of statement on any thread, a poster needs to have read the entire thread. Not everyone posting here has said bad things about Walmart.
I shop there once in awhile and I walk the entire store with no need of a little scooter. No smoking for me and that includes smoke free products like snuff. Haven't used cough drops in years and if I did need a little scooter my derriere would not hang off the sides.
May I suggest you post on a thread you know something about. The one about icons would be more your style.....
Those broad statements are annoying aren't they?

I don't care about how "classy" a place may be.

My problem with WalMart has to do with the corporate
greed and policies that hurt their workers.
Also it has not been my experience, here, that WalMart
brings prosperity to an area. The first one that
opened in our area yrs ago killed the small town that
I lived nearest to. Small businesses couldn't compete
with their prices, lost their customers, and went under.

I don't know how accurate the OP is b/c I don't shop
there if I can help it. But I doubt that the greeters
and ppl working the registers are rude in every single
store across the country.

Yes they certainly are. They are made by people like OP who are bored and want to "stir the pot".

I moved from a large city with lots of shopping options to a much smaller town with way less to choose from. I hardly ever shop till you drop anymore so it's usually more of a looking process than a buying process for me when I do shop.

I understand and agree but I also see the economy we live in with way less employment options, some have to work there and people need to save money when and where they can. I can't fault the people who work or shop there and I've never seen the crazy outfits that appear in the people of Walmart website, both here and back in Jax.

Walmart is only one of the large corporations who have shown up in places and put mom and pops out of business. My brother owned retail shops back in the day and the way he was able to survive, his stores became boutique speciality stores with items and service that could not be found in the larger box stores. It's one way to deal.......

I understand you there.

I'm a big hypocrite really b/c all the kids
wanted for Christmas was the Apple technology.
And you know all of that stuff was made in Chinese
factories with conditions so bad that they have
to take drastic precautions to keep their work force
from committing suicide.

But when the kids want iphones and ipads what are
you going to do? I don't think ANY of the smart phones
or pads/tabs are made anywhere near the U.S.

I buy my TP, aspirin, foil, detergent, zip locs...very specific items there, because they are a LOT cheaper. I also follow sales at other grocery stores.
(I have never had a rude sales person or bad experience, but I go before work at 6:00 a.m. because I do not like crowded stores)

I remember reading in a trade magazine that Walmart paint was rated highly by Consumer Reports. The article was warning contractors that their customers might be 'requesting' Walmart brand! The reality is it probably is an off blend of SW paint and it's probably fine for your living room. I wouldn't use anybody's cheap paint outside where it's subject to the elements and saving dozens of dollars and cost you thousands.

Fact is:
Wal-Mart controls manufacturing practices through volume contracts.
You make it for what they'll give for it or forget it. Therefore short cuts and substitutes are used to produce things to profit from what WM will pay.

Sometimes to the point it's dangerous to use their products and they're not made as well as others.
But you can always get a refund-they throw what you brought back in the trash and write it off taxes at full retail price-nothing lost for them.

Can you tell they're not one of 'my' favorite people?

So, why don't you post with your "older" accounts??? I'm sure they are legendary, if only in your own mind.
Anyone still posting here from back in the day is "A Topix Legend" in the sense they had paid their "offbeat" dues.

"U" mean that plastic stuff that resembles a fork, knife, and spoon? Depends on the quality-some get washed & used again others get 'trashed'.

It was a valid question. Why not post with the account we all know you by???

You called Reebie a punk, now I call that being mean.

You started this thread with some wild statements.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the Offbeat kitchen. Stop trying to "bring the heat", if you can't take the comments posted your way.

You know me well enough to know, orders will get your nowhere fast.....

I can only do Walmart once or twice a month...anymore than that and my blood pressure goes up...(not really...my blood pressure does not go up at Walmart...I'm just saying that to be satirical)...

Or maybe it does go up...I don't know...

Anyways...Once or twice a month is all I can take...if that...

Cause I do demand and have come to expect quality custimor service...

I cannot, will not, lower my expectation of what i expect, to the current mindset of employees working when i enter store...

I set the high standards...and do not follow their low ones...

Walmart should hire me to give seminars on how to change attitudes of employees...

I would run it like boot camp...

And in the end, they would have better, more mentally fit employees, who would take their Walmart experience, to help propel them to better opportunities in life...

Some of you know i'm right...but resist just for the sake of resisting...

Anyways...happy shopping...
