Just curious...why do you boycott Kathie Lee?
Personally I've never paid any attention to
her line of clothing. Are they poorly made?
Years ago she made a line for Walmart..When her children were much younger...

It was found she was using children in "sweatshops" in Mexico, I believe,, to make her clothing line.. Or Walmart was,, dont remember all the details.. but it wreaked havoc on her career for quite some time...

I'm normallly not one to defend Walmart. But, anyone that expects to support a family while working as a stocker or cashier, at ANY store, isn't exactly a rocket surgeon.
No doubt about that.
But these are necessary jobs despite what
ppl may think. We need ppl working in
department stores and restaurants.

It would not hurt WalMart at all to pay at
least a decent wage. Plus quit playing the
game of ..." this is a part time worker"
so they don't get the advantages of the full
time workers.

And it's not just WalMart. It happens most
everyplace these days. Anything it takes to
screw the workers and keep all of the profits
at the very top.

Ah....no surprise really.

It wasn't until just recently that I realized
that most of what we buy is made in countries
like China....the workers are nearly slaves.
Kept in small housing units with one bathroom for
150 ppl. No fans allowed.
Cramped and unsanitary conditions.

All so we Americans can save a few bucks on
cheap made items.

It must have been more pressure than she could handle, as now she makes a living being a public lush.

I know, its next to impossible to go " all American"
I do what little bit I can..
Where Walmart is concerned, there is so much information on them, its easier to just bypass them altogether..
They are duping America..
Now as far as the original theme of this thread goes,,
Time and Space is still an idiot :)
People get jobs where they can find them, and do the best with their resources..and deserve respect,regardless..hes just delusional,,,,lol

I would imagine it is hard to be professional when
you don't make enough money to feed your kids.
Actually it's not...
And many who work at Walmart...they either don't have kids, or their kids are already grown and out of the house...

There is never any excuse for a bad attitude in a public place...

When you dawn the company uniform, you must put aside all petty behavior, mature, grow up...and represent...

isn't the object of owning a company to make money for its self and share holders ?????????

don't exactly call stocking selves/cleaning/restrooms/ rooms as skilled labor positions ... I bet the pharmacist /optometrist make a fair market wage ... a skilled position

I think their wages are comparable to any other retail. Or fastfood for that matter.. McDonalds is another major chain.. The difference is, Mcdonalds, gives better opportunity for growth within the co.. offers employees shares...etc, and does more humanitarian,,etc,, most retail and ff,, are all notorious for working employees 30-32 hours per week,,to keep them from fulltime benefits.. but still provide benefits paid vacations and holiday pay etc..in that aspect, Walmart is no different than its competitors..

wassup Tally :)

They just about have us where they want us...

They're already saying: "WE (they) can't compete with the Chinese wages and so many people are stupidly anti-Union (because THEY aren't represented so they don't care if anyone is...) and they've got a lot of people thinking wages SHOULD go down because- well, ya know- it's a 'conservative' thing to do...ever so 'practical'...

So, how does the American worker compete with .99 to $1.37 and hour 16 hour day, wages? Take less...

We dodged a bullet by not electing Rmoney. But, it was only temporary.

You get all your "class" hanging out on Sprague Ave. did ya?
It is best known for being a "Red Light District." How much time did you spend hanging with the "Lower Class" at the Deja Vu?
