Well then....they should reflect that in their Television commercials and newspaper adds and flyers...
Walmart should not decieve me through their television adds, where all their employees smile, and are hyper friendly, and greet each and every custimor the same...
Walmart should be truthful then, and instead cast ordinary people for their commercials, who display rude, hostile, moody behavior...
Then, at least, I'd know what to expect...
Really, are you that easily deceived(i before e except after c)???
Hyper friendly, that doesn't sound good to me and yet I have heard that you are hyper, so that must be what you are looking for, a hyper experience.

Gee, is that your experience, that ordinary people are rude, hostile and moody??? No wonder you are the way you are.

Try looking for the good in people and better yet, start treating people with kindness and respect and you will have a much better life, day in and day out and that includes shopping......

I hate WalMart.
I know Sam Walton was a good man with
a good idea but since his death I think
that "idea" has been thoroughly corrupted.
It's not only that the merchandise is
made in sweat shops in countries with no
human rights. It is also the way the co.
treats it's own workers.
Most ppl working at a WalMart store get
food stamps, Medicaid and WIC. The stores
encourage it.(and how many tax dollars is it
costing to pay what that company should
be paying?) The majority of the employees
are listed as "part time" workers to keep
them from benefits.
Women are discriminated against in many of
the stores which led to the nation wide
civil suit (which the women lost).
questions:

why should an employer pay for food/stamps or any public assistance???????

if the women lost the law suit , doesn't that mean the store was innocent??

An employer shouldn't pay for food stamps.

Nor should they underpay their employees then
encourage them to take advantage of a system
set up to help ppl w/o jobs.

As for the law suit...I don't know.
Since the members of the civil suit were from
all across the country the court didn't see
it as a company problem as much as a store
issue. Right or wrong? I don't know.
But it is odd that all of these women were treated
the same yet the company stated it was not company
policy.

In short the company can afford to
pay a decent wage and insurance for
their employees instead of us (tax
payers) paying for WalMarts employees
to have medical coverage.(plus
food stamps to feed their kids.)

I believe you may mean a class action suit

but part-time people don't earn enough so they qualify for government programs.... like an Obama phone , so a worker pays for that ....

question so when a company takes a dip do you adjust your wage accordingly ... and who is the worker to tell an employer what he has to share ..... government does that to you in taxes , bet you cheat

My guess is high-priced lawyers...

Had they imported some cheap, lead-lined counsel from China, their defense would have fallen apart.

info:

Federal Rules of Civil Procedure..... before a court certifies a class action, it must conclude that there are too many class members for them all to be named as parties in the lawsuit.

technically, class members do not "join" into the litigation, but decide to participate by not "opting-out."

You're expecting too much. They pay cheap wages and schedule long shifts. It's all about volume. That's how they keep the prices low.
But you can not or cannot...whatever..this is not spelling class...

Anyways...

You can't put a price tag on class and dignity...

For instance...if I worked at a store...and you walked in...regardless of your status...you would leave my store feeling like a million bucks...

Point is the company makes billions annually in profit.
Yet they are so cheap they refuse to pay the workers
a wage they can live on.

Around here all you hear from these rednecks is how
they hate ppl getting public assistance.
In their opinion if they wanted to pay for all of these
kids they would have had them themselves.

They are forever telling ppl to get off the "public
tit" and get a job.....so they get hired at WalMart and
still qualify for the "public tit"

So why don't these same rednecks get mad at billion
dollar corporations who pay ppl so little that it keeps
them ON public assistance?

That's the marketing of the GOP. They try to get as much of the 99% to battle for the 1% as they can. Rmoney got a very ironic 47% of the vote back in November. How many of those were of the Walmart-crowd persuasion?

If we were talking about a small
business it would be different.

This particular company Can afford
to pay a decent wage but instead they
rip off their employees so the CEOs of
the company can suck up the profits
like sponges.

Personally I've never paid any attention to

I'm normallly not one to defend Walmart. But, anyone that expects to support a family while working as a stocker or cashier, at ANY store, isn't exactly a rocket surgeon.

All of the points you've made in your inclusive posts re: Walmart are valid. I saw that documentary too, but the program was no revelation, just affirmation.

Furthermore, Walmart deserves the scrutiny it garners. However, it is but the prototype of current bargain-retail commerce. The "part-time" status, eligibility for public assistance, and/or the products from sweatshop -- or nearly so -- suppliers must apply to some of the following: K-Mart, Target, Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, possibly Meijers (in the Great Lakes region), and gawd knows how many more.

But then again, retail commerce historically (and food service and hospitality industries for that matter) has always had their deficiencies in employee benefits and wages.
