Detroit city workers being warned to go scentless

Mar 15, 2010 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Minneapolis-St. Paul Pioneer Press

Change is in the air for Detroit city workers. City employees will be urged not to wear perfume, cologne or aftershave as a result of a settlement in a federal lawsuit.

Now there will be a new lawsuit for those who must bathe more than every Saturday night....whether they need it or not.

Another reason to stay outta Detroit (as-if we need more).

Great rule. Excellent rule all the way. I can only hope EVERY company starts this rule. What the hell kind of a person wears this shit anyway? OK fine some very soft subtle perfumes on WOMEN ONLY do smell quite pleasing. Men in no manner at all should ever use perfume. You’re gay if you do.

So we really need these type of 'rules'...life gets increasingly annoying. And then people think of other things to outlaw, too-

I worked in an auto factory paint shop where we painted 900 cars a day.
We had to ban under arm deodorants and some shampoos because they caused paint defects, even with full body coveralls and hair nets.
At the other end of the plant, some QC personnel refused to drive cars that had been driven by persons with particularly strong and/or offensive colognes & perfumes.
With the increasing number of allergies these days, a lot of companies are banning strong scents as being irritants.

There is a bar that showcases local music acts. When the crowd stars pooring in and the stench of beer and cigarettes hits you it is a relief. Otherwise it smells like b.o. and pee. There is actual kitty litter filling the alleyway. It doesn't help.
