roger rodas would be in jail if he had lived as he was speeding and had illegally modifed the car with a twin added on turbo chargers which gave the heat needed for a death trap along with a unmodifed 24.3 gallion fuel tank that heat and fuel killed paul walker whom was still breathing in flames.roger rodas aceeded his abity in the GT as his track legal raceing was done in front engined ford mustangs. In the GT with pauls money he found his limits as a race driver,he didn`t have the skill levels needed to driver a turbo GT with limited traction due to the horse power bump up.he is totally at fault and had he lived he would be in jail for vehicular homicide he should speed on the track and had the proper safety EQ 6 gallion safety fuel cell bladder, a flame out system helmits fire suits gloves boots.his lack of knowledge and skill levels could had been over come had he used the proper safety gears and keep it on the track with the least fuel onboard as possible and no turbo heats to cause the fire and burning of even the carbon fiber.he was driveing like a know it all teen ager with no real knowledge only some turbos and he should be sued and his shop shut down

Rodas is guilty of vehicular homicide because he made a conscious decision to operate a motor vehicle in a negligent manner. 2 1/2 + times the legal speed limit on a surface street is simply stupid.

Rodas was _not_ a professional race car driver. Rodas was a professional accountant who played race car driver using Walker's money.
Rodas was _not_ the owner of the performance shop. Walker owned the shop, Rodas played manager. Rodas set up the shop as a tax dodge for Walker, and installed himself as manager and driver.
The shop was liquidated immediately following the accident, confirming that it was not a viable business, and existed solely as a tax dodge.

A fuel cell and a fire suppression system is not required for all racing classes. If the tank is between the axles, it is deemed safe for racing. STO class, which is about all that car is legal for, does not require fire suppression.

The question someone should be asking is why these two supposed philanthropists left their own fund raising event one hour early to go for a joy ride.
