Some times in life you do what you have to. When the rules don't agree or you have a desire to stay together as a family and its not always possible you make choices that allo it to happen.
Its dry and enclosed no one can ever say any place is safe, but when its all you have, you are thankful for what you have.

If they have a place to stay no matter how bad they can at least find employment and strive for better.

Isaiah 2:19
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he rises to shake terribly the earth.

Judges 6:2. To these they fled in times of hostile invasion.'When men saw that they were in a strait (for the people were distressed), then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits;'

Revelation 6:15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

"We're from the government and here to help you".

I'd like to know exactly where these people are right-now. What "help" were they provided?

Maybe if Mechelle would sniffle over these folks, something might get done about jobs, poverty and the mentally ill.

Wow. So much to ponder on this one...
Here ya have a group of , apparantly very intgelligent, homeless folk, who have been dealt a crap hand.... making it work...until they are discovered, now they are forced back into the urine filled alleys..
the emphasis on the tunnels is rediculous..its a means of shelter...nothing more....

these folks will make it someday when everything else falls apart... hope they have as much compassion for the real world, as the real world has had for them.....

or maybe not....we do much less for our own homeless than we do for Sally Struthers fly infested kids...

Hi-????- Not sure why all the BIG NEWS
chatter about this one?
This was far from unusual. O.K. someone went to the trouble to dig a little "rat hole' wasn't that lg. or all that fancy. i.e. ingenious.
There were more people living above ground than below & even that was on the low end of hobo camps.
Not to mention the direct connection to thievery that was exposed here!
Thought maybe this would be about some tunnel rats living under the city! Some of the major cities have ,sometimes VERY extensive tunnel networks in place ,under ,sometimes far under, their downtown areas,
KCMO does for sure, have a series of tunnels connecting many downtown businesses, they were in place to use to repair buildings, drainage, ventilation etc & move people & goods between businesses, then I know for sure they were used extensively during prohibition to move , liquor, beer & people between restaurants & gambling halls.
There is a a group of people in Chicago & N.Y. that explore & document these systems for a hobbie.
I worked in a business in downtown K.C.M.O. that maintained part of one as a private dining area.
These homeless will simply move on & maybe live in cleaner conditions for a few weeks . Rick
