I'm from the old school that believes children should be protected from adult issues and concerns too but this mother exposed him to her own paranoid thoughts
Everyone said that was all she talked about and that she was at the neighborhood pub almost nightly
He had no friends and was taken out of school by her so there was no hope of help or intervention with his problems
Then she left him home alone a lot
It doesn't surprise me he shot her first
She was gone on a "retreat" most of that very week.

I am saddened by all that I have read here. The arguing back and forth between friends. We all agree that this is a tradgety and we could second guess all we want but it willnever bring back what was lost. 6 adults and 20 CHILDREN!
I have been to war and yes war is different then the homefront so they cannot be compared.
I do agree that we have the right to own our guns and that responsibility does rely on us gun owners to safeguard our weapons.
Bad guys don't follow the law so what will more laws do. Nothing but hurt or hinder good people.
Don't take our gusa away or only bad guys will be the ones with guns.
In closing I will just ask each and every one of you no matter what religion you practice, to say a prayer for thoes 20 little angels that are now in gods care!
20 first graders, 6 heroes (I need the practice on spelling heroes).

This arguing, discussing is a function of our form of government, and has been done VERY frequently throughout our history for all kinds of issues.

Not to discount riots and more peaceful protests, and don't forget those who have burned, shot, and lynched folks.

You're trying to compare apples to oranges here and there is a huge difference.
Oh thats right I forgot he looked up that gun free kill zone before he did the killings... Do you see how stupid that argument really is??

Congress will do nothing. They are to afraid of being voted out of office. Obama doesn't have the authority to do anything meaningful. The reaction of liberal States is different. State control gun laws. Connecticut already bans assault rifles for what little good it did. This is all just a show to make it look like there is a way to stop a crazy person when we know the only way to reduce the killing is a good man there with a gun

<quoted text>Yes Fort Hood was very much a gun free zone. Almost no one is armed on a military base. The military police are armed just like our civilian police but there are no weapons that aren't in the armory. You can't carry a private weapon even if you have a CCL. There are a lot more people with CCL who are armed off base and none armed CCL on base

512 murders in Chicago last year. 446 of them school age children. Why is no one shocked about this?

Why do you think no one is "shocked"? Why do you think none in Chicago-land are dealing, working, "combatting" on this?

Tell you what: the taxes discussed around here re: assault/tactical weapons and accessories (bayonets, knives one can ooh and aw about in the gun periodicals), body armor, and ammo can be used to enhance enforcement regarding gangs and thugs, and deal with the social and mental health problems.

And our America's erstwhile "Matt Dillons" with their arsenals could be utilized as [trained professionally of course] special deputies, if not state National Guards, to assist in the enforcement part.

Baffling that Rahm Emmanuel is letting that particular crisis go to waste, isn't it? Guess he's not to keen on having poo slopped up on his expensive clothes.

I never said I was against guns. I was just asking those who want to control guns why they're not shocked about the Chi-town murder rate. When seconds count, the cops are minutes away and the cops are just as fed up with it as are the law-abiding citizens.

Yes and you can't rest assured that Rahm's kids are well protected in their school by those carrying guns, a privilige not granted to the ordinary tax payer.

Teenage gangbangers carrying illegal firearms shooting each other has been around since the 70's...why are you so surprised?

I'm not. But for the city fathers to tell law-abiding citizens that they have no right to protect themselves and others using arms is insane. I suspect that the Chi-town mayor doesn't really give a crap about the killings, the drugs or even the illegal guns coming in on the same supply lines because he's powerless to shut it down.

This is so sick to think this was a plot to disarm America. There are websites right now saying that Sandyhook was a hoax.
I can't even imagine in my wildest dreams what this is doing to the families of the children that were killed...
I guess all the new networks all over the world were in on this so called hoax by the left for the purpose of gun control or to disarm?
WTF, IF YOU BELIEVE ANY OF THAT YOU REALLY NEED A REALITY CHECK AND SOME HEAVY DUTY MEDS..
How can so many be so gulliable and be lead by the NRA like sheep to slaughter..
Get a fcuking grip ppl!!!!
The NRA is NOT leading anyone to slaughter and is NOT perpetuating the myth that this was a hoax. I am the NRA. The fact is, Obama and other anti-gun Liberal Leftists are using the tragedy for political gain. Even parading clueless kids on stage in a shameless attention heart string grab. Andrew Cuomo just rammed illegal legislation through that is draconian and onerous to law abiding citizens and does nothing for safety, except it may actually decrease our safety. Those that may have sought mental help will have wonder if they will be put on a registry if they seek help. Many thousands of law abiding citizens have been turned into felons overnight, some are not even aware of it yet! Is giving up our Constitutional Rights going to make us safer? No. Refuse to be a victim. Stand up for the Constitution, We the People.
