It doesn't make any sense to me...
You are correct ... this is the religious right part of the party. I don't particularly care for them.

Well, there's no reason that in a country of 315 million people, everyone can't be successful. Absolutely no reason whatsoever. Jobs here in America are plentiful and pay well. There is no racism or discrimination of any kind. Duh!

Hey there sh1theel.... You wouldn't know anything unless your handler told you about it. Some of us have been discussing your positions here and come to the conclusion that you are one scared dude. Terrified that if the GOP wins your freebies will get cut. That the idea of having to find a job scares the sh1t out of you, that you will be forced to be responsible for yourself. And that thought makes you pizz down both legs. You've been a slacker so long you don't know any other way. You've gotten used to the dependency of letting others think for you,its easier. You're comfortable with the idea of waiting on the mailman to bring your sustenence at the first of the month. Simple life, simple needs, simple thoughts-simple man. Yes,you let the promise of free stuff from a benevolent government buy your soul, initiative, freedom and integrity. You've become a slug. A slimy pest. And the sad part is-you're comfortable with it. Thats all from here, from me sh1theel. You've just become a pathetic loser with no life and a massive jealosy trip to those of us who dare. Good-bye slug. Its been nice but now.... You're just not fun anymore. Go play with Geno/Snark. Maybe he/she/it will feel sorry for you.

I will be honest and say most of the folks I have know who were on welfare in my life were either slackers who didn't want to work or couldn't hold down a job even if they wanted to, gamed the system, or who had just made terrible decisions in life.
Maybe the folks I've known are a complete anomaly, but I find that hard to believe.
I don't believe people should starve in the street, regardless of their shortcomings, but I'm much more in favor of programs that make people self sufficient as opposed to programs that just care for folks and preserve the status quo of dependency. My parents did not come from money and my mom got prego when she was 18 and my dad was as well ... because of their income level at the time the state of IL had a program that allowed my dad to go to college for free (I asked him about this not too long ago ... I didn't know this), I believe, provided he maintained a B average. He worked full time during the day to provide for his family and went to school at nights and got his degree in accounting and did very well for himself in the business world.
Its not in the best interests of the politicians to reform the entitlement programs. Many people have used them at one time or another, especially young couples. These programs are needed. But to what extent? Of people who use them many move on and up,others don't and become trapped in a cycle of dependency, drugs or find fraud easier than work. I'm sure you've seen the TV commercials where some shyster lawyer will "fight for the disability you deserve". These predatory shysters need to be shut down as well as the ambulance chasers who "won't take a penny until you've been paid". I KNOW these services are necessary but to advertise and be successful you gotta know a big chunk of this is based on fraud. How to address this is the problem. There HAS to be an answer,a resolution fair to all.

There is racism and discrimination, but that is not what primarily holds people back. Just about every other ethnic group, except for one, has dealt with it too, at one time or another, except for the English, and despite this, they have overcome it.

When only 52% of blacks are graduating high school and one out of every 3rd black man can expect to go to prison at some point in his life, I don't think it is fare to say that racism or discrimination is primarily what is holding them back.

Racism and discrimination doesn't cause people not to graduate from high school. That's a self-induced handicap. That starts at home.

Racism and discrimination doesn't cause 1/3 of black males to commit crimes which causes them to to prison. That's a severe self-induced handicap.

In all but 11 states, most black children do not live with both parents. In every state, 7 in 10 white children do. In all states but Rhode Island and Massachusetts, most Hispanic children do. Racism and discrimination does not cause this severe handicap imposed on the children of these families.

There are fundamental problem in a lot of homes in the black community. Bill Cosby and many other enlightened black people who have refused to ignore what is self evident, have spoken about this. Hell, even Chris Rock joked about a book being like kryptonite to far too many in the community.

We've subsidized bastardy for almost 50 years, leading to the almost complete destruction of the Black family structure. We pay women to for raising children that fathers won't/can't support. More kids more money. This is a two edged sword. It frees the fathers of the responsibility to be supportive while paying women to bear/raise more children in basic poverty drawing a ngovernment stipend. This soon became a family tradition and not just in the Black community. Wjere bastardy used to be a stigma it is now a mark of honor to be the father of several children by multiple women, none of which they support. Or to have several children by several different men. THIS in itself leads to social clashes between individuals who thought THEY were exclusive partners with someone who bore their child and thus violence ensues when parties try to settle the affair. Stereotypes are based on observed behavior and perpetuated as it crosses the spectrum of a class/race/gender beyond more than a scattered few. This problem didn't begin in the Black community,it was the result of a well meaning government, but it is the most affected by it. The solution will have to come from there or it will get worse.

You're right Orphanages are expensive and many children end up there because they are a unwanted pregancy, rape or an incest child and for many reasons after a certain age are unadoptable so they stay in the system until they are 18. Then the taxpayers pay for them.
The Pro Life/ Conservative ppl want to stop abortion, don't want to fund Plan Parenthood or pay for contraceptives through insurance but....they are against welfare and many other programs that pay for these children including Orphanages..
It doesn't make any sense to me...
Some of these children live hellish lives..because they are not wanted and thrown away in the system nobody wants to pay for.
Which is the worse of the two evils??
Why should our tax dollars fund planned parenthood?

Have you traced all your tax dollars to make sure they are going only to things you approve of, like GOP pork projects- bridges to nowhere and tanks and planes that the military doesn't need or want? Do people who don't have children have a right to NOT pay taxes because those taxes MIGHT go towards schools?

Sublime wimped out on my question to him so, I'll ask you: Do you think everyone in this nation of 315+ million people all can be successful?

I already answered.

Let me go further, with hard work and wise decision making (such as, don't have children you can't support if your ambition in life is to drop out of high school, serve time in prison, and make a career out of asking folks if you can take their order ... instead consider joining one of those childless by choice support groups ... Darwin thanks you), everyone can support themselves, absent those with disabilities (which I support providing aid too ... in fact we could provide more aid to folks like that if we didn't have so many folks who through poor decision making have become wards of the state).

Is supporting yourself success ... well considering the alternative you'd like to see is 1/3 (and increasing) of the folks in this country being wards of the state and living on welfare, I'd say yes.

Don't worry Ferr, in about ten years that 1/3 will be about 50% and you can tell yourself how wonderful that is and how your party has accomplished so much.

You two ever hear of assured clear distance? At least three car lengths, lest you ram each other in theass. Got it? If further violations are incurred, we'll have to issue a ticket to appear in court, as well as a tax payer funded hotel room.
