Sublime,
I do appreciate your well thought out comments. But there are many here who are fighting this battle and doing the same thing as in the nasty comments and getting of topic. I am one of them.
The fair thing to do would be to address all not just a female.
This whole agrument has been made into a Libs verses Conservatives which in reality it affects us all one way or another.
The passion is on both sides, I get it. But as adults, as human beings, as Americans we should be able to come to the table on this issue with a sensable solution that we all can agree on..
Just saying....
While I recognize folks are making disparaging comments about libs and conservatives and it is a two way street, thatís kind of par for the course on here and, insults aside, somewhat germane to the issue at hand, which is political in nature.

Gender, women hating porn (I know quite a few women who enjoy porn both on here and IRL Ö I guess they didnít clear that with their official spokesperson, lisawow), masturbation, someone being ugly because they donít have a picture, penis size, who women do and donít respect, is so afar from the nature of this conversation it really has nothing to do with this conversation.

Also, while I said those things to her, and she is a woman, had a man been behaving the same way towards a woman, regardless of whether her views were similar to mine, I would probably have called him out too. I would have probably been much more harsh in fact. I generally am much easier on women, than men. Iíve done it before. Someone was calling Olga fat and I said, Iíd rather be fat than a prick like him. Thatís not the only time Iíve done it.

Politics can get heated Ö I understand that, but making personal attacks about someoneís appearance is really uncalled for. Also, even as a man, I find it insulting that she thinks she speaks for all women. Sheís really speaking for women, who are like her, which are not the majority. Most women donít strain to make everything out to be gender issues and quickly resort to gender attacks on matters of dispute that have nothing to do with gender (she reminds me of the radical feminists from the movie PCU). Most are more secure than that, FSM love them.

I disagree. The auto industry is better, The housing market which I'm in is slowly improving. The stock market hasn't tanked.

Jobs are still a major problem but we are better than we were..

And I agree we need to slow spending..

Dismissed, hypocrite. You have been schooled again. And you failed, miserably.
Too bad there haven't been more mass shootings for you to sensationalize, huh?

Thank you, I think I apologized for the Fox News comment. If not I am sorry. As I just posted to you this is a passionate debate. I get it.
You are obviously one of the more intelligent posters here and you leave politics out of it and I thank you for that.
That is very kind of you to say. No worries about the foxnews comment. I was just teasing.

Politics are sometimes germane to the issue at hand. I do try not to get too nasty and I don't really agree with either party on a quite a few issues. So, depending on the issue, I can be critical of either party.

You've seen me most arguing against more progressive values, but I will argue just as vehemently against conservative values when it comes to their views on who should or not be allowed to get married, their desire at times to use the government and laws to impose their religious values on everyone, and the environment.

That man has some serious issues with the LA Police Dept that he thinks has ruined his name somehow.

He's out for blood.. And if his manifesto is correct many will pay for it before the law kills him or he kills himself which I think he will do if trapped.

And this is a point many so called Libs are making. All ppl with guns are not good guys, anyone can snap including armed teachers, police officers, etc.

GM is in trouble again, Toyota retook the top spot despite repeated attempts by the leftist media to demonize them, Fannie/Freddie need constant and repeated bailouts, etc., etc. Do you REALLY think we're better off?????

You're welcome,

I myself have been tagged here a bleeding heart Liberal which is really not true.:)

I'm just a woman who think changes need to be made and although I know it's a very political debate it's a shame that everyone just can't take a step back from it and find solutions..

These people are only getting worse! I *got* the part where they *had* to be so awful because they were trying to *win* an election but, that is over and they lost. To continue with this awful tact means that they truly hate America and Americans. They are no better, no different, than Al Queda.

I'm not the one using tragedies to further a political agenda. That would be THE LEFT. But I do think liberalism is a mental disorder.

I agree. I think, unfortunately, this is going to be one area where real meaningful solutions are difficult at best, however.

You've got the inner city crime aspect. We've been trying to solve that for decades. It seems to me, in order to prevent these things from happening, much needs to come about from the very communities who are struggling with this. This problem is largely confined to certain racial groups, and inner city blacks in particular. That's not being racist ... that's just stating a fact.

You have big cultural problems that perpetuate the pattern of violence however ... absent fathers ... low education achievement ... high incarceration rates ... gangs. While I think certain drugs should be decriminalized, which in theory may cut down on incarceration rates (although I suspect many of these will just look for the fast buck via other methods), I don't think you can legislate these things out of existence. These changes need to come about from the communities at issue, themselves. I don't know how you make that happen.

I do know that instead of identify the actual root causes of these problems and targeting them, we tend to get knee jerk reactions ... like banning guns in inner cities? The problem is, criminals, who by definition don't follow laws, will certainly still have them, even with a ban ... also shouldn't law abiding citizens who live in these areas be able to protect themselves?

Then you've got the mental illness aspect. I'm normally not one to put my stock in what any Hollywood actors says, but I think Bruce Willis summed it up very well:

"It's a difficult thing and I really feel bad for those families. I'm a father and it's just a tragedy. But I don't know how you legislate insanity. I don't know what you do about it. I don't even know how you begin to stop that."

How DO you legislate insanity? I don't know ... I haven't the slightest clue what to do about it. I haven't heard any good ideas, either. I think most of us are okay with universal background checks, but that really isn't going to solve our problems, unfortunately. It's more knee jerk, unfortunately.

I think all of Sam's registered names have been banned and his *friends* won't let him borrow some of their 'extras' anymore. Even they are realizing he's a horrible, loose cannon.
