You can't put guns in the hands of rookies.. Weekend training is not enough for these ppl (teachers) to be able to handle a stress situation...

I have to admit that I wouldn't like to see teachers armed, but I like it less that a teacher sacrificed her own life and had no chance.
Security at schools is a better solution, maybe off duty police. Our High School down here had a shooting and they now have officers on site.
I just don't like our kids being sitting ducks, this isn't like when I grew up.

Me too in fact I do vote for GOP membersin local elections where they have no power in decisions over birth control or gay rights or abortion or any of the other personal matters they should keep their nose out

Sheesh- so would I. I voted for Reagan, for chrissakes. He was full of it but was a better choice than Dukakis, back in the day. It's odd how they revere him now but, if they paid attention to what he ACTUALLY DID, they'd have to hate him. For starters, raising taxes seven times...putting Marines without ammo in Beirut...gun control....Iran/Contra....

I'm all for better security systems with an armed guard such as a retired cop or a military person who would know how to handle a stress situation but not teachers.

Think about the teachers you had in school, now think of them packing heat.

Most I remember would fumble and shoot themselves in the foot but I had one teacher that gt fired for how he would go off in the classroom. He would have been more scary if he'd had a gun
