Andrew Cuomo just rammed illegal legislation through that is draconian and onerous to law abiding citizens and does nothing for safety, except it may actually decrease our safety. Those that may have sought mental help will have wonder if they will be put on a registry if they seek help. Many thousands of law abiding citizens have been turned into felons overnight, some are not even aware of it yet! Is giving up our Constitutional Rights going to make us safer? No. Refuse to be a victim. Stand up for the Constitution, We the People.

It's apparent that you just wanted to fill in a post box.

"I never said I was against guns." Where, oh where, was it that anyone stated that "YOU" were against guns? You aren't up to answering questions, though are you?

You didn't answer my question about why did YOU think no one was "shocked". You didn't answer my question about why did you think that folks, not just the cops -- the folks of the communities -- in Chicago-land are are just rolling over and giving up on the fight against these gang wars?

Of course the cops and citizens HAVE to be fed up.

And?

Why don't you personally help with cleaning up Oakland?

I'm sure it will go over the heads of many here.
Evidently it did! I get that a lot, in these parts....

I do believe that too many hours spent on the Internet is harmful because of the negative and the nature of the interaction. I think those new shows about how people are deceived and hurt on it might help.
I don't see any effective laws happening about any of it
Focusing on guns may be popular but nothing effective will come of it while it will increase the tax burden and guards in schools will be no more effective than seat belts on airplanes
Much agreement all around that this is a multifaceted issue; in and out of this medium; and proposals, executive orders, and states' laws current and new reflect this.

The "heat" is that the NRA -- shills of the gun makers -- and those who "have to" go boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,...[you get the idea] damn that feels good deflect away from a facet of the issue. That focus is on them, and they don't like it.

Thanks it feels good that someone else sees it is a bigger problem than just the guns.

The gamers scream too if you point the spotlight on them.

I understand what you're saying in the second part but I guess I resent that they expect the rest of us to pay for armed guards so they can freely play with larger and larger weapons or magazines too

They can pay to play and to finance the school security they believe is the answer.

$5 per box of ammo
$50 per pistol
$100 per rifle/shotgun

This would finance the training and salary of school guards.

There are no negative icons, only positive ones. One type of icons indicates some of the right people agree with a post, without the risk of being personally called an as$-kisser. The other type indicated that you've pi$sed off the right people; be it one poster using multiple profiles, or prairie dog towns with several "trackers" staying in their burrows and tunnels.

Too low, bro; particularly for the ammo.

The type of gun used in a crime doesn't matter at all. It is rare when a rifle is used to murder. Pistols are used in nearly all murders with a gun. The guy in this last shooting had two pistols and a rifle. I haven seen any source that says he used only a rifle. Not saying he didn't just saying I don't know

The joke was the dog and pony show Obama put on. Have you read his executive orders? Nothing there at all to prevent the next shooting. Congress isn't going to do anything because they will be voted out. Lots of gun owners are Democrats

So is frauduently misrepresenting yourself.

Actually, no. The problem is irresponsible gunowners, sellers, dealers and right wingers. They could care less about the rest of the United States - just what's in front of their own noses.

What's the crime rate in Britain versus the United States? How about Canada versus the United States. They have crime too - just not as much.

Your arguement is invalid.

A large quantity of unused ammunition was recovered at the school, along with three semi-automatic firearms found with Lanza: a .223-caliber Bushmaster XM-15 rifle, a 10mm Glock 20 SF handgun and a 9mm SIG Sauer handgun. A shotgun was found in the car Lanza had driven to the school. At home, Lanza had access to three more firearms: a .45 Henry repeating rifle, a .30 Enfield rifle, and a .22 Marlin rifle.

The weapons were legally owned by Lanza's mother, who was a gun enthusiast. Police said Lanza used the Bushmaster rifle against most of the victims. According to the state's chief medical examiner, H. Wayne Carver, many of the victims were shot multiple times with the same "long weapon"—the Bushmaster rifle.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, lets just hit the breaks here Denny.

What do you mean the type of gun doesn't matter.? Have you lost your TX mind? Why don't you tell that to the familes who could not recognize their own babies because they were so torn apart by those guns that don't matter..
