May I say this, on reading this thread,
there is, sadly, a dishonesty..

Since a few of us here on Offbeat try our hand
at poetry, Adrian, Wildbluerose, Justaguess,
to name but a few .. and I include myself here
too.

I think I can speak for the others when I say,
whatever I produce and sign MY name to,
is from 'my own' creative source,
[whether good or bad]
people are indeed free to judge either way]

and ... if I feel a need to put up
someone's work I will give that author the credit.

I think I can safely say the same of the
above mentioned..names,
we have shared poems together in
BLOG POETRY, here on Offbeat,
some time ago.

It is the least one can do,
for the true author of any work.
as, a bit of work goes into
the thinking, arranging, composing, rhyming, timing,
writing etc ... of any poem.

It is sad that Adrian De Vine doesn't appreciate the
fact...
and thereby show a little more sensitivity..
in this regard.

on # 15.. he claims this as HIS work
by signing 'his' name,
when in fact it is the work of another:

I saw where he posted a well known poem as his own. "Where the Sidewalk Ends" from a collection of children's poem though I don't remember the authors name off the top of my head I know it is NOT A-Drain Devine

I don't care if someone gives the name or only share the poem but he goes the extra step of putting his own moniker at the bottom and leading people to believe he wrote it.

Nothing I can do about it except ignore it. A shame and a sham.

I like his poems, and as for putting his name at the bottom of a poem, could it just mean his mark an in, him posting? Which I have actually seen a lot of.

I don't know really, I have not been here long enough.

Has he ever said that the poems are his?

I have to admit, I'm not to sure how this works.

everyone's work is unique and particular to them..
whether it be a song, poem .. speech etc..

and for that reason, it shows a respect

I still hold that it's only fair and proper
to give due credit to anyone's work, singularly.

Not much to ask, I think.

I think you should write more, and worry less about LoMac..Grace..

Maybe, just maybe..the correct author of LoMac's poetry and writings IS being given due credit to his work, singularly...just as you ask...

I don't understand why you use the word 'worry'
I am not worried as such, just asking for fair play,
that's all..
Wonder why does he use different names?

If I write something I put 'my' name on,
as does WBR, and Justaguess etc.. simple enough.

I am 'writing' all the time,
I have a forum of my own poems,
that Moi here on Offbeat kindly made me
some time back...
keeps me busy.

It is a really nice fun thing to do...
and many people here on

"THE GIFT."

Let my poem come to you,
floating its way freely,
through the big fake world,
wild scented holy,
when it arrives,
as an ache....
embrace the hole in you,
like a hawk in the air,
sensing that it can't be caught,
feed my poem,
where spring blossoms a cherry tree,
make it a fat wombat,
contemplating life, if you like,
let it bend in the breeze,
let it leave as it came,
maybe it will open its wings to the sun,
maybe the poem and I will
just disapear in the fog ?

In time you may come to know
that silent and hungry truth
that lies in the corner of my mind

In time you may know
how it thrives in my heart
and feeds my flesh

And come to know the vow
my body makes every day...
and call it duality.

There comes a moment,
when the air is still,

The wonderful smell of sage,
the softness of shadows,

The ambient light reflected,
from the billowing caps of the clouds.....

Iridescent yellows, cool reds,
warm blues,

Deckle the desert of my soul,
in soft and sweet repose....

Not much to ask, I think.
Two neighbours came before Jupiter, and prayed him to grant their hearts desire.
Now the one was full of avarice, and the other eaten up with envy.
So to punish them both Jupiter granted that each migh have whatever he wished for himself, but only on condition that his neighbour had twice as much.
The avaricious man prayed to have a room full of gold.....no sooner said than done, but all his joy was turned to grief, when he found that his neighbour had two rooms full of the precious metal.
Then came the turn of the envious man, who could not bear to think that his neighbour had any joy at all.
So he prayed that he might have one of his eyes put out, by which means his companion would become totally blind.

(Aesop Fables)

Vices are their only punishment !

Thank you Debra.....for your nice sentiments, interlaced with maudlin emotion, that I fully understand, and wholeheartedly support and agree with.

"BYZANTINE LABYRINTH."

Words like little graces, blossom and bloom about me,
with effecent charm the alarm is sounded.

Bugles brass and bold, chime high the challenge,
I lie, unmoved intoxicated with a lifeless elixer.

I see yonder, a dream like, a drowse made of fog,
of landscapes.....delusion filled,

Children shrill on the playground of possibilities.

Insidious clowns, exaggerate frowns, tempting my fate with teardrops,
torn, worn and weary, I summon strength to leave this livid leviathan.

Insipid dawn, languid drawn.....rises above my tell-tale intentions,
order obliterated under these chaotic confines of mind......

Maniacal meanderings seems my only means of motion,
this I trust,

While I cantor the banter,

With a just and virile joust !

Good morning, Grace. Now, I see we're on the same page. You've agreed that LoMac uses different names to write. You're next talking point seems to have surfaced and is WHY does LoMac use different names? Why he uses different names is his business not mine...that's the end of the LoMac issue for me. I'd really much rather play word games and leave the writing of poetry to the Offbeat people here...who unlike me...are very good at it..

Have yourself a beautiful day, Grace.
