I hate when ppl do that.
It's like seeing them tied up on 3 feet of
chain in the farthest corner of the back
yard.
It's a shame ppl don't understand the relationship
b/t dogs and ppl. They miss out on a lot of love
and companionship.
I love Westminster (even tho they don't allow
Pitts)
So I hope for the snow dogs to win the working
class:)
Yes, we had some neighbors that had a Rottweiler tied up all the time and it eventually turned kinda mean....i hate it too....Used to watch Animal Cops on AP, but got to where i would cry too much, seeing dogs and horses mistreated....Strange how you tend to tear up easier, when you get older....

This was touching to me.

I feel that shows you haven't
become hardened or
accustomed to
the ugly things in life.

Tears heal.
I think that's why they burn so....
Like an antiseptic they help
wash away the hurting inside.....
but not without a little sting
so you know they are working.

I had some horrible neighbors who used to keep their dog outside in a crate that was so small he couldn't even turn around in it. They'd leave him out in the winter with no cover and no room to move so he could try to keep warm. When it got free it would come over to my house and eat because he was sticks and bones. I can't tell you how many calls to the warden & police I made trying to save that poor dog. He disappeared one day. I have no idea what happened to him. Makes me sad to think about it. He was a sweety & didn't deserve such a terrible life.

I still watch it.
And yes, get all weepy over it.

I think tying dogs up makes them
crazy. It's no kind of life.

This kind of thing breaks my heart and I can't
hardly stand it.
I have had altercations with neighbors over things
like this. I have a horrible reputation around here
for that reason.
These ppl know I'll confront them. I have just taken
MANY dogs away from ppl. Sometimes they threaten to
call the police and I tell them to feel free.
Then they could explain to the P.O. why this dog that
should weigh 90lbs weighs just 30lbs.
They never call the cops....lol...so far anyway.

I agree
and... I think cruelty to animals is one
of the greatest of all sins, and there's just has
to be a payback for it somewhere along the line,
not that I'd wish evil on evil,
but certainly KARMA is very strange how it
operates..

I always feel there is some serious lack in
a person with such a cruel streak, somewhere
inside they remain undeveloped.

That's the best way I've ever heard
it described.

Something lacking.....

I see them like aliens!

I have great admiration for you
and what you do for animals,
you remind me of EL,
on El'S KITCHEN thread, she too has
had to ease starving cats away from their owners!

Continued success in what you do,
don't EVER be afraid to speak out,
its people like you who make that difference.

Don't admire me.
I don't do half of what I should be doing.
B/c for every one that is saved I'm sure
dozens die.
But I think when ppl get together w/a goal
lots of good Can be done.
However, getting anyone around here to care
is an exercise in futility.

yes WOULD be better if everyone was

Yes, aliens...
folks who are disconnected emotionally,
and can frighten beat and maim helpless animals
just for a laugh..
to me, these are 'aliens beings'
cut off, different.

Like minded ppl.....

That is what makes Topix so great
when you live in a rural area. It's
hard, sometimes impossible, to find
ppl of like mind near by.
With access to a place like Topix finding
ppl more like yourself to chat with becomes
easier.

Yes, they destroy another life
for their own sick amusement.

The pit fights are the worse.
In a family situation you'd never
have a smarter or more loyal animal
than an American Pit Bull Terrier.
But ppl destroy these sweet animals
for money and a source of entertainment.

It's an atrocity.
And after suffering the worst kind of
abuse...they are so grateful to you
for rescuing them. Still love ppl
even tho ppl tried to destroy them.
IMO those dogs have more heart than
most ppl.
