I agree. Even moreso, I find it odd that women wear shirts/blouses/sweaters to church. I mean way back in history we were all naked (look at Eve in the garden of eden)..... I always encourage the female parishoners in my church to remove their tops. If they are shy, I always offer to let them first do it in my office, with only myself present.

It's not the feet, it's the neon kilt that has everyone staring.

Most of us wear shoes to protect our feet. We don't walk on our hands.....well, maybe if a person works for the circus they do...... we don't need gloves nearly as much as we need shoes.

Because in sandals your feet are not in contact with the bare ground, and you can feel it. The heat, cold, the hardness, the gravel, cool grass on a hot summer day, all of those things are lost when we insulate ourselves from the earth. And besides that, it's just plain fun!

Some people think it's weird to go barefoot, because they don't know any better! They don't know about all the health benefits, FUN benefits, and mostly they've never visited a site like barefooters.org homepage for The Society for Barefoot Living.

People might think it's weird to be barefoot in church, because their uptight overdressed "church ladies". When I've gone like that, I never seem to have any trouble with the men-but all those ladies look at me like, well I don't know what. I normally don't go to an organized church, I have a different way of keeping in touch with God. But sometimes a friend will invite me to theirs, and so I never miss the opportunity to either leave the house barefoot not even take shoes with me or wear flip-flops so when I get there I can step out of them before going into the sanctuary for the service. There's no reason NOT to go barefoot, pretty much anywhere you want! Restaurants and places like that get touchy about it, but not for any logical or legal reason although they probably will tell you there is a health code or something. There is not. Well there is, but it affects things like employees washing their hands after using the bathroom. Though for some twisted reason, there are still a lot of people who think it's unsanitary (like the bottom of your shoes isn't?) Are somehow just wrong to do. Never figured that one out myself!
