Maybe it was one of them "Magic Bullets" like the one that shot both Kennedy and Connolly on the same shot.

This is what happens when you just can't keep your hands off your weapon; and it shows that cops are far from experts with firearms. If you want to avoid 'negligent discharges' keep your farkin' hands off the weapon unless you have a reason to use it or put it away.

Firearms are exceedingly well-behaved when holstered; and they will stay that way for hours or days on-end. It's only when some ham-handed jackass touches it inappropriately it will react badly. It's all up-to the head at the other end of the hand.

I'll betcha dollars to doughnuts this guy was jockeying it around b/c it was a little uncomfortable in his waistband while driving. So he took it out of where it was supposed to be to shove it somewhere-else. Kinda dumb even if he was alone. REALLY dumb w/others with you.

Firearms don't ask much of us except a little care in handling and then to be pretty-much left-alone. IMO, this guy deserves a week off w/o pay so he has something to remember. We mortals would-have probably gotten more than the slap on the wrist he'll get.

Sorry he was injured. But that's what rules are for. And he obviously didn't follow the CLEARLY defined rules that have been set in stone for decades...as well as those of his department.

A few people abuse welfare and conservatives demand it be eliminated!

Well, more than a few have abused guns so we should definitely eliminate them.

This conservative 'logic' is FUN!

When seconds count, the cops are mere minutes away.
Still a no-brainer to have the good-guys where you need them most. NOW is the time for paradigm shift: Instead of cops working for business interests like insurance companies (and themselves) as revenue collectors, and keeping insurance claims lower by keeping accidents fewer, it's time for them to start protecting and serving US, the citizens. And what citizens need protecting most, our kids.

Think about just WHAT most cops do on a regular shift: They cruise like sharks looking for anybody they can hit for a fine, or arrest for any reason. Are they standing watch anywhere? Are they in most schools in any significant numbers? NO. They are told to ticket and arrest. Time for that 'normal' to change.

Do you have a constitutional right to welfare?

As a matter of fact, it's in the preamble:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Welfare, in this instance, doesn't mean handouts. Doofus.

Prove it, Spammy.

If you c-essers can get sedition against the government out of the 2A I will take "welfare" at it's literal meaning being as how it's actually written IN the Constitution.

I don't mean to butt in, but what exactly is your definition of welfare if it's not welfare?

Liberals always misread that. It doesn't say provide the general welfare it says promote the general welfare. That is the difference between the Socialism you desire and the capitalist system :)

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Libra

You're in an idealistic mood today and only want to see the best in other people. This is typical Libran behaviour, because you aren't good at facing up to harsh reality at the best of times. Today, you're ready to believe that someone is a candidate for sainthood or that they're the best thing that's ever happened to you, regardless of whether it's true or not.
