It would be his luck to be hit by a bus or get shot in a drive-by or robbery.

Unemployed. Thinks he's Dr. Venomstein. Going to invent a new anti-venom for the world.
From the pictures he has at least 10000$ in rare snake species in his home.
He must be wealthy to afford all the hospital bills and upkeep the snakes.
So why isn't he working in a laboratory instead of over the bathroom sink?

Hmm.

Sounds like the first bite must have caused brain damage.

Black Mambas are Africa's most feared venomous snake species..

with a ferocious temper to match..

they are also among the most fastest on earth. They can easily catch up with you in a chase.

This guy is either borderline crazy, or he is a true humanitarian. Perhaps both. I don't know if he's necessarily the first to risk his life for humanity but this is an exceptional undertaking on his part. A very courageous and noble deed. Injecting the venom is one thing, but to let the snake actually bite you sends chills down my spine. Amazing that his liver and kidneys are still functioning, although he did say he suffers from side effects like anaphylaxis which is an allergic reaction causing swelling and breathing difficulties. He's lucky to be alive. Talk about handling pressure. He at least seems to have mastered that quite well. Good luck to him and I hope his efforts one day results in a life saving vaccine that people can afford.

Even if it works for him, that doesn't mean it works for the public in general.
Plus, taking the entire demographic in the 'danger zone' and treating them all to >100 snake bites, guarantees something awful will result to some percentage of them.

It's just nuts.., and incredibly dangerous as well.

I think this is just an urban legend, but some say that high voltage can break down snake venom. And every so often, someone bit near a motorboat or car will pull off a plug wire and grab a hold of it for 3 good jolts.

Not sure if the above is helpful, but it probably goes on the list with other harmful self-remedies. Some people still think you should apply a tourniquet above the bite or cut a hash mark through the bite to bleed it (and then suck out the venom). Those have been proven to be dangerous and ineffective, but occasionally some still do those.
