I'm 200 feet from the water's edge, directly in her path.

Should I go to the supermarket and stock up on anything I can get my hands on?

Absolutely yes! Better safe than sorry, never know.
I've got to go to weather channel and take a peak.
Best to you and yours, if the predictions are true you are in for quite the storm.
So unusual this time of year. Watch out East Coast!

Probably.

Predicted natural disasters make my people (Southerners) wanna sit around and eat baloney sammiches and drink milk. So we buy all we can find!

I picked up some food today, but I didn't go nuts. And I'm ready if the power goes out.

Thanks for the well-wishings; I'm battening down tomorrow. Good thing I put a GPS unit in the kayak.

Bring the pets in with you.

When you see them hunker down, do the same.

Still doing well.
The pets are snoozin'.

People only 2 miles away on the barrier island were evacuated by mandate; they had to be 'out' by 2PM this afternoon.

I'm cozy, watching the World Series and I need a new pair of slippers.

The first drops of rain just hit.

I'm in Sandy's path. Far enough away from the shore fortunately that I don't have to evacuate twice a year. I do however get pinned in due to flooding on major roads. I'm up on a hill safe from flooding but not safe from the high winds. Hopefully all my neighbors tied everything down. It's going to get ugly outside.

The media here are keeping us well informed
Many flights have been cancelled between

How about a rocket ship to propel your ass out of there?

Eggs, water and bread aren't going to do you very much good when the storm surge hits - but the bread will float for awhile.
