My brother caught a sea gull that way. He threw his lure and the gull swooped down and caught it with his beak in the air. What a mess.

Ha.....Took my daughter on a party bost when she was 8 years old, she caught a sea bass (small, maybe 12-14 inches) and by the time she reeled it up all she had was the head with a hook in it.....Bluefish went to town on it on the way up.

Similar thing happened to me in Maryland.I had caught a bunch of perch and strung a line thru the gills to keep them fresh. After 10 min. I pulled them up from our private dock and a frigin maccossan snake had eaten half and was still attached, and scrermin on the dock. You never seen guys doin the high step scramble so fast in your life...(spell check is not perfect,,OK,,?sheshhh)
