Guy Loses $1 Million Over Mispronounced Word
Paul Atkinson was on the way to living the dream: the " Wheel of Fortune " contestant had landed on the million-dollar wedge, which would have put him one spin closer to the coveted prize.

This is a classic example of the media misrepresenting reality in order to gain readers. The guy did not lose $1,000,000. All that he lost was the very REMOTE chance of winning $1,000,000. To win $1,000,000, he would have to win the "Million Dollar wedge" (which he lost out on by mispronouncing curio), then he would have to have won the most money of all 3 contestants, then he would have to win the bonus round, AND he would have had to pick the "Million Dollar" envelope (1 in 20 chance).
I don't know what is more sad -- how the media can sensationalize everything or the fact that I know this much about Wheel of Fortune.
