It might be difficult to determine who runs the country; government or the FED.

Reading between your lines, it appears you trust these human beings that have access to amazing amounts of money. That money could be used to manipulate auditors and report writers. You also have faith that they will use that money/power to do the right thing for America (not themselves). Your trust and faith is positive and admirable, but, it's no more provable than my negativity and pessimism. Well, actually, throughout human history, there are way more cases that illustrate power corrupts, so the odds are with me.
If the general public knows, they could revolt in various ways and cause positive change (End The FED).
