We were down in Naples last week through the weekend. Hotashell on the gulf coast right now.
Looking forward to Mexico at the end of the month.
Can't wait.
Every time someone goes to Mexico, they come back deathly ill. Why is that? Anyone know? Is it the food or parasites in the water or what?

The only problem is that the written word is slowly disappearing.
Taken over by smartphones, ipads and technology.
I have an iphone and an ipad - I can wire money anywhere in the world from either one. I also do 100% of my banking online as well as pay bills.
I haven't written a check in over 5 years.
I suppose it may no longer be needed in the future except for historians who want to read anything in archives prior to the typewriter but I believe we are losing from it, further diminished as a society and culture.

Just as I feel we were lesser for losing the ability to make change and ring up sales by pushing buttons with images of food instead.

Going to the mailbox is more exciting than sex. I can't wait to see what bs scam I am going to open or, even better, I get my neighbors collection bills by mistake but I still read them and pitch them out.

Handwritten letters (cursive, not printed) received in the mail is one of life's nicer pleasures!

That's sad.(not the 57k part. that's good.) Sad that today's youth can't write by hand worth beans.

All of the above!

The food they wash it in the water. Also apply pesticides with that same water! If the water has parasites and even if you wash the food before with say bottled water you still might get a parasite or two because sometimes they are hard to wash away!

Take showers with your mouth closed.........
Drink Bottled water (check to see where it is from too).........

Yes I can read messy cursive like a doctor would write. If it is all pretty with little loops and cutie things like that forget it! I write in print very small print. I sign my name in very messy cursive.......

Have a good one all!!

I worked in Mexico for a year and a half. If you eat and drink what the locals do, there's never a problem - it's when you order American cuisine is when you have problems. The area we're headed to is pretty civilized in that regard. We went last year and other than a little crappy weather for about 2-3 days, it was great. Lastly, when I'm on vacation, I never drink water, only tequila - secret #2.

I agree, I've made a few trips to different parts of Mexico and never gotten sick.

I ate at an American steak place once though I too prefer to local cuisine. I've never had a trip there that I didn't enjoy but I have to say all the conflict you here about now with the drug cartels and things makes me afraid to go.

Ahhhh...but consider the risk a stale, unchanging world in the face of rising population levels, increasing starvation and desease and God help us - man's constant desire to explore for self-betterment.

True, but who ever goes on vacation to Juarez, Mexico?

I tend to enjoy the Gulf, string bikinis and bue drinks with little umbrellas in 'em moreso than getting shot at in a rusted old jeepney.
