Go Blue Forever wrote: <quoted text>I think we all thought that, and i kinda wish i would have tried harder.....at least to make a reunion or two.....BTW, finally spoke to the old girlfriend....let's just say the memory was much better than the reality...lol... Yeah we al thought that "older"was so faraway and what we had going would be much longer(lol). Glad to hear you speak to that old girlfriend! I know what's that like. For me the memory and the reality was equally pleasant. Just to have that moment again is well worth the encounter. I have a fresh memory of a pleasant past! Sweet to have that instant regonnition from someone from our past. To have and hold someone of those days of our informative years in the present. Great feeling is'nt it.

I know there are those since high school that became "lesser" people. Some lead a fecent life, others fall. At least you know where in lofe she is now. I just hope iy has:nt tarnished those memories.

I always said no one needs to look. Those friendships would last beyond high school if each wanted that. Actually any relationship endures if sincere. Life can change even great friendships/relationships. Found out the hardway that life is subjective to the events of our lives and changes people even you and I in respective to what goes on around us.

Cally man wrote: <quoted text> Yeah..sad huh-....I do wonder why I ha more women friends back than ..but now got more male friends..strange .oh well.. Same here. Mostly male friends. This isn't a complaint to you, just to tell of a situation. I was very healthy till age 36. My doctor said my digestive tract is similar to an 80yr.old. then I got arthritis-neuropathy- bursitis-bone spurs at many locations- raynauds syndrome(had since birth). I feel much older yet still young at heart. Had to go on disability at age 45. Way less money because I had to retire 20yrs too soon. That translates into friends fading away. What do I have for friends? 3. One is on anti depressants+anixity and had a nervous breakdown prior. This is a female. The other is an 88 yr old man, known him 4yrs is now permanently in a nursing home. Lastly-a 20yr old. Known him just over 5 yrs. Became like a son to me but since I'm not its more like a mentor/big brother. He also has issues. Uses and smokes weed. Seen his father die when he was 13. We became close. I felt secure in relating to him. Because there is no female to be close with, we went on a few overnight trips. Had fun. No pressure/ difficultes of intimate relationships when just having friends. Problem is he recently meet a guy his age and that guu stayed at his home for a month. Then this month had some argument with his mother and was told to leave. He texted me jusy 3 words. 10 days no contact. Did'nt know whete he went.I offerref him to stay with me. No answer. After 10days he calls to say he's back home. I had asked one family member if he's ok. I was told he haf friends with him at an eatery nearby Then I see him in the neighborhood and did'nt bother to stop by. I helped him in so many ways, rven financially because I haf somone to associate with instead of being alone. He tells me he did'nt call because of a home problem yet he went snowboarding with other friends. Obviously he felt like talking then. He was angry that I went asking about his whereabouts. I loaned him $270 so he can do things with friends because he does'nt work. I have to do without so he can have fun while his mother provides a home +ulitities and cell phone and cable. But I'm not good enough to even get a call. Promosed to pay me back on 2-4-13. Not a cent repaid. I live in a town that transformed from a nice place to a third world like place. I yry to make friends here but all I get is greetings/small talk. There are others like me that have fewer friends as time goes on. The lucky ones have friends for life.

Most of those he knew have died. However it shows that friends can be for a lifetime. He can't do the things he use to but still has that network of friends that I envy. Seems the difference is he never was laid off or downsized so has a pension and S.S. therefore friends stay in contact.
