They'll whine and cry unfair when they have to scrub down the entire school in order to graduate..fitting punishment..they are children after all...

Speaking of leaders, they called in cops and search canines from about nine neighboring counties, an over reaction from the same types who brought us the "war on drugs." Two decades ago this event would have been seen for what it is - a prank gone too far, but not the end of civil society.

Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say that is not a prank.

One senior said, "It's not as bad as everyone's making it out too be". He should have followed it up with, "Never mind the fact that we broke in and vandalized a school. We shouldn't be held accountable because we were only following tradition".
The school says it is deciding what to do about it. There shouldn't even be a need for discussion. The law should prosecute each and every one of them for breaking and entering, burglary, vandalism, trespassing and destruction of public and private property. They should be put on a minimum of five yrs probation after serving any jail time and the school should hold their diplomas until such time as they have completed their
probation.

So, would it be okay if some friends and I came over, uninvited, let ourselves in, broke a couple of chairs, dump out your garbage everywhere, spray painted your walls and then urinated everywhere? You wouldn't call the cops or retaliate in any way, would you? After all, it would only be a prank, and we were just having fun! Glad you have the right spirit in this!
You poor, lost soul.

If they did that to my house there would not be police and canine search teams from about nine surrounding counties.

In fact, the police would probably shrug and say there's nothing that can be done either as a statement of fact or as an act of indifference.

To explain to you further since you require spoon feeding: My reference to the "war on drugs" was suggesting an over-reach, not that the behavior itself was like your no doubt perfectly darling, christianist spawn.

Even so, yes, I would see a big difference between students breaking into their school - these pranks have been going on for decades - and breaking into a stranger's house. But you do black and white thinking, not nuance.

I've said it before: You are the most lawless person on topix. Because abusers of official office are always more lawless than they criminals the former ostensibly hunt.

As we know not just from your posts, but from your tales of getting traffic tickets (and probably DWIs) taken care of.

I don't know what language that poor, old drunk is attempting to type, but it's not something I can follow.

The thing openly speaks about having its traffic tickets fixed due to its no doubt illustrious background, and openly invites other posters to "meet him" in a parking lot, and openly hopes for people's homes to be broken into.

All the while completely missing the point: Cops from all the neighboring counties and their search canines is some kind of sick, fascistic over reaction. And that's not the same as saying this year's prank at the school was okay. But that sort of distinction is too subtle for drunken fascists to comprehend. They're too busy working on their alcoholism while sending pot users to prison....

I see you missed that 12 step meeting.

Yes, I said it was an over reaction. And I referenced all the neighboring cops and canine search teams coming to the school for several hours.

Anyone can see that's a crazy waste of resources, and that if some civilian caused such a misallocation that civilian would get a sentence of some sort.

good thing no over re-action here .........

As two state troopers struggled to arrest his father, a 19-year-old man armed himself with an assault rifle and shot them seven times, killing them outside his home in a remote Alaska village, authorities said in charges filed Saturday.

hummmmmm

Nearly 40% of police officers fatally shot this year were slain in ambushes or when they were surprised by suspects with firearms.

Another one for A.A. Even the school honcho now agrees with what I posted and what was obvious: The "incident," another, perhaps exaggerated installment in a long tradition of pranks, was overblown in the press.

And the police reaction was pure sickness - all those neighboring departments and the canine search teams.
