But Cutrufelli's lawyer, Sanford Troy, says the negligence lawsuit has "extremely good chances" of success if Cutrufelli is acquitted
I caught that.
My first thought was "only in CA" but know better.

I recall a case in Iowa about 30 years ago where a farmer lost everything for shooting a burglar in the ankles with a shotgun. He should have aimed about 5 feet higher.

as the saying goes no two cases are the same , like the farmer....if the burglar was retreating , you can shoot him...
even in today's Castle law , if they no longer constitute a threat you can't just shoot ...but as always

Where I live the burglar would probably have left the house in a bag.
If not, well, we have one of the strongest Castle laws in the country.
We had a burglar lock his self in the bath and call 911. He was afraid the home owner was going to shoot him :)

thanks , but I was a scout/sniper USMC , the best defense is retreat . I can always buy a new tv/ but never return life , be it mine or intruder... when cornered have no choice , but intruders want to escape more than play ok corral

Err, we don't entertain gold fish, however,
I agree sir. Any intruder in my house is a danger to life and limb...

Absurd, they chose to break in so therefore they knew the consequences if caught. Tired of hearing criminals complain when their caught. Don't like it change the life your living.

If someone breaks into your home, I think it's 'safe' to say your life IS in danger!
