I dont know a shetzoo is, do you mean shizu? I own an Irish Wolfhound, Australian Shepard/Boxer mix, and Lab/pit mix. But I had a shephard for 13 years. If they are mine, like children, I love each and every one of them equally. Unless they do something in the house. Ha ha Ha.
Its "Shih-Tzu", but don't worry most everyone has trouble spelling it, maybe because its Chinese

arent these the dogs that attacked and killed that woman in ca. and the owners werw convicted of murder bc they failed to control their dogs on many occasions? Just wondering if this is the same dog? they are huge.
Those dogs were severely neglected and mistreated before the couple (who were lawyers adopted them)...Before they adopted them for a client I believe it was...the two dogs lived on a farm and were tied up all day with no exercise or socialization...
Yeah, they are huge...but very beautiful dogs...and can be dangerous when not taken care of correctly by irresponsible dog owners...

I adopted a boxer/pit bull mix from the pound...such a beautiful dog...he was very very sick when we adopted him though and had to be put to sleep...when we called the pound to tell them this they just said ok and offered to refund the 85 bucks we gave them for him...they could have cared less...I told them to keep the money...they need it more than me...and that wasn't going to help me any...now I refuse to adopt from a pound or animal control..would rather go to an SPCA or Rescue....

I am sorry you had a bad experience with the pound, the problem is that if it's a pit or pit mix they just don't care what happens to them...I have seen it here at the pounds Colorado.
I adopted a Pit/Daschund mix 15 years ago from a pound in Florida, he has been a great dog...I think he is becoming a little senile now, tho.

I chosed "Other". I love so many types of dogs. But I do have a small Chihuahua that does not think she is one. She is such a good dog and so comical. And a Weiner dog, which I do love, but will never have another one.

I can't believe their is someone else with a pit/daschund mix...only because I've only ever seen one of these and they are BEYOND cute...When I worked at the SPCA there was one there named Ramone...he had this small little daschund body and this big pit bull head and he was so adorable. I put in an application to adopt him myself but later that day a couple came in and totally feel in love with him so I withdrew my application.
When I worked at the SPCA there was a TON of pit bull lovers there, so we spent a lot of time socializing them, however the ones that came in were 99% of the time not aggressive considering we didn't take strays and they were all surrendered by people who were moving or couldn't have pits or pit mixes in their neighborhoods anymore. So adopting them out there was not hard, however, at animal control the pit bull/ pit bull mix population was HUGE. When I adopted Tison, my pit/boxer mix I must have counted atleast 20 pit bulls and 10 pit bull mixes. When I went in I was going to adopt a lab puppy, but after seeing Tison and how beautiful and just plain sad and miserable he was I had to get him the hell outta there.
We only had him for 2 months until he became seriously ill and passed away, but atleast he had 2 months outta that hell hole to be the spoiled, loved dog he deserved to be. He had health problems from the very beginning and the vet thinks it was because animal control just didn't take care of him properly when they got him, but we just couldn't give up on him so we forked out a total of 5 grand plus in medical bills in a two month period before the vet told us there was nothing else to do.
It's good to know that you have a positive story about a dog adopted from the pound though!!!=) I really lost faith in them after that happened.

My pup had 6 brothers and sisters, he looks exactly like a large daschund, he is brindle and weighs 55 lbs. I usually don't tell people he's mixed with the pit because of the stigma, and my homeowners insurance would be outrageous!
I would adopt a pit if I could, but they are already banned in the city I live in. I think they can be the best dogs on the planet if people would just give them the chance, train them right and love them. I can't even got to the pound or the rescue places anymore, because there are just so many of them, and I want to take them all, it breaks my heart.
I am so sorry to hear about your pup...you two were meant to meet :) even tho he was in your life only a short time.

I have been trying to adopt a boxer from the pound,(I have a 6 yr old also) but the boxer rescue here picks them up quick, and they have so many rules when you adopt from them, I just don't know if I would be able to qualify. I think I may wait until my old guy passes tho.
