Wieners.

Some of Fred's old vaudeville buddies are coming over tonight so I guess I'll be going down on them before the night is through.

I made a pot of chili, and have Colby cheese and crackers. Hot dogs, or grilled cheese if anyone wants. Sweet tea or soda to drink, and snack cakes or ice cream for dessert!
Come on Let's eat!

Hello Sam could you give more details on the chicken recipe ? Please
Sure, but I rarely measure stuff, and I haven't measured anything that goes in here for 30 years...

In the crock-pot...

a cup or so of water
maybe 1 tablespoon of sugar
a teaspoon or so EACH (or 'to taste'...LOL)...
black pepper (white will work...red will work...whatever you have)
Seasoned salt
garlic powder (or chopped....I've used that, too)
Chinese 5 Spice (MORE of this is a good thing...I've never used TOO much yet)
about a 1/3 of a cup EACH
Worechester sauce
soy sauce (I use the low sodium stuff nowadays, in my old age)

Recently, I've taken to shaking some ground ginger into it. I'd guess it was about half a teaspoon (?).
A bay leaf or two.
A sprinkle of oregano (not a lot. I don't want my wife to actually 'see' it.)

chicken...we like boneless, skinless thighs (package of 6). They don't dry out as fast as breasts. But experiment. I've used wings and legs, too.

You can tell, this is a pretty forgiving recipe. And since it goes into a crock-pot, it is fairly fool proof. But I don't let the wife see me fixin' it, because if she knew what all I put into it, she'd say I changed the recipe and would not eat any. I quit measuring years ago, and last night she said the batch I fixed was the best I've fixed in a long time. I added more 5 Spice to it...

This crock-pot is a 6 quart. I use the 'low' setting for 4 hours of so. If you get antsy you can turn the chicken over. I usually do (but only because the wife thinks it needs it. We've been married a long time...I don't argue much anymore.)

Sorry about the lousy instructions, but it isn't like baking, so feel free to adjust the amounts. But don't leave out the 5 Spice, as that is what makes it "Washington chicken".

This will make the kitchen/house smell good, too. I hope.
