Show me where in the Constitution is says that background checks are an infringement of any right to own a firearm.

As usual, you're not even on the same page within a discussion. What in the h*ll does a pressure cooker got to do with background checks?

LMFGDAO...I won't even bother answering that one...LMAO!!!

Oh, and playing the Mitch McConnell race card thingee by referencing "Obama's homies" is a nice touch. You just threw what sliver of credability you ever had out the window. But that a Conservaturd for ya'- racist to the bitter end.

So we have Republicans in the President's party now?

"Rep. Jerrold Nadler"

Btw, nice touch leaving out the "Rep." and replacing it with "Mr."

Absolutely. If they establish the precedence that the president can nullify the parts of the constitution that he doesn't like, what is to stop the next president from attacking free speech or voting rights for minorities?

It seems to be a repeat of the "Literacy Tests" that the Democrats used to deny blacks the right to vote. If ya can't outlaw something, make it as difficult as possible to exercise your rights.....

I really don't think he was talking about exploiting children.

The proposed legislation would have done jack to stop what happened in Sandyhook. That won't stop Obama from going on and on about Sandy Hook, as if the two are connected.

According to polls, 90% of the citizens were in favor of tougher background checks. People have a vested interest in keeping guns out of the hands of criminals.

However, the NRA (Marketing Dept. for Gun Manufacturers) was 100% in favor of paying senators to keep from passing such restrictions on criminals.

This was business. If you are a senator- paid good money by the NRA to vote their way- you are obligated to do so! To quote "The Godfather": "After all, we're not communists."

These senators HAVE to vote according to who pays them and will keep them in office.

The first formal voter literacy tests were introduced in 1890, during the Harrison administration - a Republican.

The Voting Rights Act of 1965 suspended the use of literacy tests in all states or political subdivisions during the Johnson administration - a Democrat.

And those Southern democrats of the 50's became republicans. They always forget that part!
