Well they either broke the law (school and/or cops) or they didn't.
If they did then heads need to roll; if not, well, then not!

Real parents would do that.......but these parents seem like they would not......and are trying to make some big bank on this frivolous lawsuit.

I say spank the parents in public.

And all the poor kid wanted was to ride in a police car, like his father...

I can understand the parents being
a bit upset...esp if the boy didn't
do it.
What I can't understand is why
the police would use cuffs on a 7 yr old.

(still doesn't mean they have the right
to even 1 mil much less 250 mil)

ok to the point herenothing in the articl says anything that the boy in question actually stole 5 dollars from another student.what it does say is falsely accused.
then the police handcuff a 7 year old on just an accusation, why not call the parents of both kids to the school and work it out?
next the kid was held by police for 10 hours and we don't really know at what time the child parents were notified or if they were notified.
police procedure does require that parents be in the room when a child under legal age is questioned.

secondly i support the lawsuit myself just for the fact that the police of late think they can do whatever they please. if the parents win a tenth of the money they are asking for it sends a message to the cops and the city.

The attorney and the parents must be charged and do jail time for making a mockery of our justice system. They are wasting valuable tax dollars that this country cannot afford to waste.

Ahahahahahahah

Or a crayola.

I don't get the cuffs.
I thought cuffs were to subdue and
restrain the criminal.
How "bad @ss" was this kid?

the Post says the city dropped the charge Dec. 26. huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum and the date is Jan 31st.

Wilson was the worst bully,’ Seth Acevedo told the Daily News.‘He would call me names. He would punch and kick me. I wish they never took the cuffs off of him.’

The robbery charges against Wilson were dropped by the city’s Law Department on Dec. 26. The legal papers say another classmate later admitted the theft.

Reyes’ attorney Jack Yankowitz says that the arrest severely scarred the little boy, who 'continues to suffer from multiple body injuries, pain and distress, emotional and psychological injury and damage.'

A police spokesperson has described the claims in the lawsuit as ‘grossly untrue’ and deny that the child was held for six hours in the precinct. They insist that Wilson was treated like any other young suspect in a juvenile arrest and that they even let him have pizza.

he was cuffed to a bar on the wall , big deal , better than being in a cell with the adults ,

ny post..........

“The kid came into the precinct a little bit after 3 p.m., and he was out by 7:45 p.m.... That’s standard for a juvenile arrest.”

so, yeah... over 5$ that's a bit excessive... but $250 million????? isn't that a bit excessive? oh... new your city... like they can afford that right now.
the parents should be ashamed... no responsibility for their son's actions??? naaaaaa... sue the city! i imagine soon enough they WILL be keeping the cuffs on that kid
