Do you know either of us? I don't know eternal cynic, but I would bet his point about the Ruger 10/22 is that it's function is identical to many firearms listed on the "assault weapons" list. Including the fact high capacity magazines are available for it.
I don't own any video games. I've never played paintball, although I would like to.
Background checks are pretty strait forward when you are law abiding snd sane. How would you do on a background check?

You would be correct, I said nothing along the lines of changing the look of a 10/22. One fool wanted to ban all semi-automatic weapons. I said would you also ban the Ruger 10/11 thinking it was an assault weapon. I was hoping the fool would bite.

A little .22 labeled and assault weapon would be slightly humorous. Funny though, I do own one of these http://www.impactguns.com/gsg-german-sport-ak... not all synthetic, I prefer furniture. Using the 1994 political definition it is indeed an assault weapon despite it’s nothing more than a great little plinker.

I have seen the 22LR version of an AR. Never have seen one of these until now. I see utility in both from a repetition and feel aspect. If the weight is similar to its bigger brother, it's a must have from a cost of practice/shooting aspect.
