So, you would violate the first amendment rights of a US citizen based on their religious belief?

Interesting, you assume because you hear of illegal usage of weapons they must primarily be used for that. Empirical data is usually unreliable. I’m exposed to guns every day and exposed to other people with guns at least once or twice a week. If what you say is true I would see carnage on a regular basis.
Of the more than 80 million gun owners in this nation how many have been involved in mass murders?
Which of your rights would you surrender for others?
Your head is clearly planted deep within your ass.
Poor little baby has to resort to juvenile vulgarity. Study after study has shown that weapons brought for protection in the home are used instead for unlawful purposes. How many times do you read about children getting hold of guns with tragic results? I am not suggesting that firearms be outlawed. All I am Saying is that we ought to ask ourselves, do we really need one in the house? And is it going to reduce the chance of being a victim of crime? There are a lot of things I could do that could enhance my enjoyment of life legally that I will not do out of concern that it may bother the neighbors unnecessarily.

You nailed that one. I am hardly suggesting that we disarm the citizens completely, but there is no need for all that excessive firepower.

Gun Watch - by Dean Weingarten

There are several documented cases where armed citizens have stopped mass attacks by gunmen. Let me list a few: The Pearl, Mississippi school shooting was stopped by the vice principal Joel Myrick with a Colt .45, The Appalachian School shooting was stopped by two students with handguns. Both of the above incidents were stopped by the armed citizens threatening the shooter without firing.

Pearl High School Link Gee I guess it does work to stop mass shootings at schools :) Thanks for asking

Thanks for the links!

So, the two killed and 7 wounded before he left mean nothing to you?

LOL so it means nothing to you that more people weren't killed:) In both the cases a mass shooting was stopped from being worse. The idea of a school being a gun free zone is the real problem. Israel arms it's teacher to keep them safe from mass shootings.

Joel Myrick the vice principal ran to his truck to retrieve his 45 cal. and stopped the shooter in his mothers car with an empty weapon... in the Appalachian school shooting Mikael Gross a police officer along with Tracy Bridges a county sheriff ran to their cars to get their duty weapons a 9 mm and a 357 mag. when they returned an unarmed student had already tackled the shooter and had him on the ground Officer Gross placed his handcuffs on the shooter ...

The true facts are that an armed person can reduce the loss of life in these shootings. If the vice principal and off duty cops didn't have to go to there cars to get a gun the shooting would have ended quicker or do you disagree? I didn't know you were a gunners mate. I served from 66 to 70 in the Navy. Calling a clip a magazine is a very common mistake.

<quoted text>I am not in favor of an outright ban on firearms, but there ought to be some restrictions on what type one can own. One doesn't need an assault rifle that can hold a clip of 20 bullets or more to defend himself. Anybody with the right knowldge can easily modify a semiautomatic assault rifle into a fully automatic one and make a mass killing that much easier. While I certainly respect the right of people to worship as they please, I do believe that there should be limitations on religions that encourage others to commit acts of violence or other crimes against others and I believe the Military should have the right to exclude those of a faith whose religious views run counter to U.S. foreign policy or provide a possible security risk.
Does the US Government possess assault rifles? Do they possess fully automatic assault rifles?
Now, explain to us the purpose of the second amendment.

Wait a minute! What was that??? Just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean it can't? WOW!!!!!!!!!!
That sounds really familiar. It's been used when responding to:
What anti gun legislation has Obama signed into law in his first term?
And
Have you ever had to utilize your second amendment rights to thwart a tyrannical government?

But now, since a liberal is saying it, it's an acceptable response!

Double Standard as usual!

Have you got any proof to back up that BS?

Show your sources listing the number of firearms purchased in the US versus the number of accidental child injuries or deaths,
