Presser v. Illinois
Main article: Presser v. Illinois

In Presser v. Illinois, 116 U.S. 252 (1886), Herman Presser headed a German-American paramilitary shooting organization and was arrested for leading a parade group of 400 men, training and drilling with military weapons with the declared intention to fight, through the streets of Chicago as a violation of Illinois law that prohibited public drilling and parading in military style without a permit from the governor
At his trial, Presser argued that the State of Illinois had violated his Second Amendment rights. The Supreme Court reaffirmed Cruikshank and held that the Second Amendment prevented neither the States nor Congress from barring private militias that parade with arms; such a right "cannot be claimed as a right independent of law." This decision upheld the States' authority to regulate the militia and that citizens had no right to create their own militias or to own weapons for semi-military purposes.

the State rights you said that a state doesn't have .........

glad he had his right ....he NYPD yesterday released a dramatic series of surveillance photos that show a killer about to gun down his unsuspecting target on a busy Midtown street.

Brandon Lincoln Woodard, 31, had just checked out of the swank 6 Columbus hotel near Columbus Circle when he was followed by the assassin on West 58th Street and killed near Seventh Avenue Monday afternoon.

The assassin escaped in a getaway car. Cops early this morning were questioning the couple who rented the car, The Post has learned, although investigators don't believe they were driving it — but they are looking at the possibility they may have loaned it to someone who then used it in the crime.

Ravens let you down??!! LMAO you should be a fan of em. We let two rookies, one a second stringer, tie the score up with a 2 point conversion with seconds left then let a guy run 65 yards on a punt return in OT.

Manning Boys in back to back weeks. Satan Manning this weekend then Eli next. Playoffs no guarantee.

And MANY others! Way before my time. I remember Johnny U but my true first Colts recollection starts with Bert Jones in '75. My first O's game was in '72 vs Yanks, upper deck at Memorial Stadium, 3rd base side. Bobby Murcer was the Yanks centerfielder. Hooked! As you say...

Well, I guess that- as Fox would deem- it's too soon to talk about the mall shooting. Well, except to denounce anyone who doesn't think white children just out of the womb should get guns to tuck in their diapers, that is.

Too soon? I dunno, I saw Mikie, Billy and Hitesrunprincess making fun of Flabadcatowner and note the incident in their trolling, thinking they were funny not realizing the poor taste in their posts.

I remember Colts games started at 2pm on Sundays while all other east coast cities were a 1p start. After big TV and marketing took over, that was changed so that ALL NFL starts were uniform in each time zone.

I remember being at O's games that went extra inning that would/could be suspended due to city curfew lol!

Do you remember the NFL on CBS and Brent Musberger saying, "You are looking live......."

The good ole days.

Double headers! Lol yes, they were scheduled, not day/night. We used to look on the schedule and plan on buying tickets months in advance for them. Mom, dad, sis and cousins would all go. If my memory serves me correct they fell on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Went to a double header, I think 1974, O's won both games vs Bosox 1-0. Palmer and Cuellar? I'll have to look.

Sorry about Mike, he'll follow me everywhere.

You interrupted the conversation, placing yourself center stage ya Prima Donna cry baby. Big difference. GD no wonder you could ever get that engineering degree. You're just dumb like Flabadcatguy said.

Nice immediate link, must have great notes. You must have MS Excel experience lol. Do you work that hard on your life?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
