What was going on here wasn't what you'd call
bullying. A few posters were posting light comments
meant to get a some humor into the conversation.
One poster, he's a very serious person, took it
personally even tho I tried to tell him he was taking
it too serious, too personally.
Just a clash of personalities in my opinion.
I'm not sure why he posted names? Or where he
got names? Or even if they Were real.
Thanks for your post,
but reading it over myself,
I sense,
what one person might take as

[your quote]'light comments'..

others see as bullying..

One has to allow for different folks
and temperaments.

I can agree w/that.
Mostly.

I've described Offbeat as being a big room
w/a couple of hundred ppl all crammed together.
When that happens personalities are bound
to collide.
You have to be able to roll w/the punches here.
Don't take insults too seriously b/c the person
insulting you only knows what You show them.

If you're argumentative about EVERYTHING it's bound
to drive some posters crazy.

Seems like the best dogs are the ones you get free.
I'm pretty big on rescue dogs. You can actually get
a wolf hybrid from rescue sites if you ever decide
to do that. Plenty of them needing good homes.
I Love all breeds. German Shepards are great. I've
had a few of almost everything.
Big on Pit Bulls.(I know....)
But they are like a lot of things these days.
Not always accurately represented in the media.
Enough!...sorry you got me onto a topic that I can
(obviously) talk all day about.
Don't worry about the judgits.
You'll get them for just about anything just for
being new...or a regular in a new skin.
I have a particular soft spot for the rescue animals as well Artic, we've rescued a few, as well have paid for a few. From MY personal POV, the rescue animals turned out to be the better ones. The better half may argue that...

Not worried at the least bit about The judgits. At the rate I post,(which is sporadic and most times seldom)... certain people may consider me new years from now.

The one skin that I ever intend on wearing is this one on this site. As far as giving them, I'll probably even dish out some to those I've even perhaps even disagreed with in my short time here, if I like their post. To me it's not a big deal.

The only judgements that truly matter IMO, are the ones that we face in our real lives. And of course as some of us highly suspect, after our life on this earth are finished. But as I understand... that subject is under debate, because some think than when we pass on, we are done.

As there are very few of the the demised, that are willing to come back and testify to the experiences, we will simply have to continue to ponder and theorize.

Hope you won't mind me butting in here,
I dono' if I agree ..
although rescue animals can be very rewarding,
also since they started out with a disadvantage,
they are scarred and therefore can be unpredictable.
My own lab/collie (6 months of her life unaccounted for)
but in that period she grew to intensely dislike
and fear men, and to this day, tho' in others ways
well adjusted, would 'go' for a man,
so I feel she had been mistreated early on
before I got her.
She is very bright intelligent and loving and
100% fine with women, children, cats and other dogs.
Just a thought..to add on here

I kinda like the look of them. Have
never shot one tho. Probably not a
good idea to buy a handgun on appearance
alone.
Can you imagine how the other home invaders would tease him in jail?

IMHO, some guy breaks into your house, he'd be lucky to just get shot with a neon pink gun!

A guy brings his best buddy home for dinner. His wife screams, "You asshole! My hair & makeup aren't done, the house is a mess, the dishes aren't done, I'm still in my pajamas and I can't be bothered with cooking tonight!

Why the hell did you bring him home?"

Not a problem, I understand what you're saying about some starting out with a disadvantage. Actually the German Shepard we have now may have been abused by someone.. he's a lovable dog, but somewhat of a scaredy cat. Thunderstorms, or any loud noise and he just goes and hides in a corner.

And he's mostly shy around new people I've noticed... I suppose if a burglar broke in, he'd probably either want petted or the burglar wouldn't even know he was there, because he was hiding.
