No sack? An old lady went to a bank and asked to speak to the bank manager. She wanted to bet $50,000 that his testes were square. He assured her they were not and agreed to the wager. She only had one condition, and that was to have her attorney present as a witness. He felt that was fair, since he was sure she would lose. So the next day, she was at the bank with her lawyer and the bank manager dropped his pants, she felt, and lost the bet. But she seemed to take the loss of $50,000 very well. Her attorney was beating his head against the wall. When the bank manager asked what was wrong with her lawyer, she said she bet him $500,000 that she would be holding the bank manager's private parts in front of him.

Then just when things were going well, a familiar blue convertible drove up and the same little man came out. He addressed Reggie: "Is it true that you'll pay me ten thousand dollars if I can make your elephant move his head from side to side?"

"Yes," said Reggie, "but you've got to pay a hundred dollars to try."

The little man handed Reggie the hundred dollars. Then he returned to his car and took out his metal club. He walked up to the elephant.

"Do you remember me?" he asked.

The elephant nodded by shaking his head up and down.

"Do you want me to do it again?"

The elephant quickly shook his head...no.

Methods used

Manuals to educate the public, teachers and parents summarize, "Cyberbullying is being cruel to others by sending or posting harmful material using a cell phone or the internet." Research, legislation and education in the field are ongoing. Basic definitions and guidelines to help recognize and cope with what is regarded as abuse of electronic communications have been identified.

Cyberbullying involves repeated behavior with intent to harm and repeated nature
Cyberbullying is perpetrated through Harassment, Cyberstalking, Denigration (sending or posting cruel rumors and falsehoods to damage reputation and friendships), Impersonation, Exclusion (intentionally and cruelly excluding someone from an online group)[5]

Cyberbullying can be as simple as continuing to send e-mails or text messages harassing someone who has said they want no further contact with the sender. It may also include public actions such as repeated threats, sexual remarks, pejorative labels (i.e., hate speech) or defamatory false accusations), ganging up on a victim by making the person the subject of ridicule in online forums, hacking into or vandalizing sites about a person, and posting false statements as fact aimed a discrediting or humiliating a targeted person. Cyberbullying could be limited to posting rumors about a person on the internet with the intention of bringing about hatred in others' minds or convincing others to dislike or participate in online denigration of a target. It may go to the extent of personally identifying victims of crime and publishing materials severely defaming or humiliating them.[1]

Cyberbullies may disclose victims' personal data (e.g. real name, home address, or workplace/schools) at websites or forums or may use impersonation, creating fake accounts, comments or sites posing as their target for the purpose of publishing material in their name that defames, discredits or ridicules them. This can leave the cyberbully anonymous which can make it difficult for the offender to be caught or punished for their behavior. Though, not all cyberbullies use anonymity. Text or instant messages and emails between friends can also be cyberbullying if what is said or displayed is hurtful to the participants.

Some cyberbullies may also send threatening and harassing emails, instant messages or texts to the victims. Others post rumors or gossip and instigate others to dislike and gang up on the target.

Cyberbullying can even lead to suicide and I can just imagine the field day my detractors will have with this one. Really, instigating harassment is something that most people outgrow once they become adults, but as we have seen, there are a few on Topix who want us to think they are a crowd by the use of multiple IDs and even post to their alternate IDs in order to give the impression that the small group is a crowd.

Is it not amazing how some will accuse me of taking Topix too seriously including one who used to create some of the most vicious and vulgar troll polls about me and would forge other's names to the polls. And when I see all the trouble others go to by creating sock accounts and use other elaborate schemes to hide their identity, I just have to laugh. What does one need sock accounts for if one is not taking Topix seriously?

I am sure most of my detractors here will deny being bullies. To that I ask,Why are you then so offended by this thread. That defines the term disconnect.

Lying also plays a very big role in cyberbullying. Most cyberbullies have no interest in whether something is factual or not just as long as it serves their perverted purpose.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. I refuse to get into a battle of wits with someone who is so obviously challenged in that department.

I have repeatedly asked you to give me ONE name of a troll. You insist that *I* control my friends, when in actuality--they are grown people who make their own decisions. You express views that everyone is out to get you (paranoid personality disorder), you "appear" to have the idea that every post/poll/icon is somehow directed at you (could be paranoid, but more like narcissistic), and you also have expressed views on multiple occasions that are very near (if not totally) schizophrenic.

That is what leads me to the conclusion that you have some sort of dementia. And for that, I am very sorry.

Sadly cyber bullying (or any other type of it)
Can lead to suicide.
You never really know what is going on in anothers
life....whether it be a neighbor or some faceless
poster on a site like this.

If we would be more empathetic towards others,
not so judgmental much of the time, we would be
better posters/ppl all around.

I have no socks.
And even if I did I would not use them
to hurt anyone.

It's just not me , not my thing.
I don't like hurting anyone, ever, if
I can possibly help it.

Wait.......

That's not entirely accurate.

If you hurt a child or harm an
animal then all bets are off.

We are not, nor ever will be, friends.

Not to undermine this thought. But a human has the ability to turn off a computer. If something is hurting them, they do not have to stay.
In real life this may be a different story.

I am complete agreement that humans need to be more empathetic. But sadly not all humans have this ability. So there will always be heartless bullies.

The thing I got from the PM's from flabbercat is..
s'he'it believes it was born to 'correct' other humans. And takes it to be a full time job.

Not that I am cross talking, not my style. But just thought to throw this into the mix. Goes well with s'he'it's dementia dilemma.

Would seem there aren't any mirrors in s'he'it's non reflection glass house.
