I do not interact with vulgar humans.
Plus, you look like you have a handle on it.

Dear mediator, I had you for dinner last eve. No seconds for me.
I did not understand a thing you said. But I believe you got this handled as well.

<quoted text>I have cut way back on posting in gay forums and the Kaitlyn Hunt case, those threads were not on gay/lesbian forums. You will also see if you would just bother to read the posts that I haven't condemned Miss Hunt for being lesbian. I have opposed her because she is an adult who illegally had sex with a girl in the process of transitioning from childhood to adolescence. I would have taken the same position had the 18 year old been a guy and the 14 year old a girl. And you conveniently neglect that I have also called for much more lenient treatment of the case than the max allowable by law.
Judging by the tone of this and the fact that you totally ignore the fact that one of my detractors called me gay which prompted my saying what you are now panning me for, it is obvious that this is nothing more than a troll attack and not a case of rightious indignation. It certainly fits the pattern of my detractors holding me to far higher standards than they intend to follow themselves.
I read about that case -- underage is underage, indeed.
You don't owe anyone, particularly these 2 un-registered lapdogs VA and TX, any explanation about your posting, though I see DC might be appreciative.

~laughs~ One can only hope! I find it all rather amusing. The memories, record keeping, threads bought in at length. Just amazing.
Love the mediator showing up ...again. And love the other one that knows all showing up. Is better than watching sports.
Oh well! No one takes this seriously (that's been stated many times all over).

It's a "selling" {Mistress writes "deja vu", also see Yogi Berra "Deju Vu all over again"] of myths, or as Mistress writes amnesia (selective memories)... by fun, nice, sweet old-timers when ganged up practiced the fine arts of the Topix game: different "hats" [see Casey Anthony or Jon Benet Ramsey threads -- "socks" are so cliched].

Kind of like the multi-headed monster Hydra of Lerna; or, HYDRA and henchmen of comic books.

Spotted Girl added that cyber-bullying only applies when these on-line fights go off-line, or vice-versa.

So, add in "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" since it's n AC/DC and with ever-present un-registered "hit-men" you have a comical Mafia movie! You gotta know the game, and the cast.

I don't think it should be called "The Sopranos" though. That would be disrespectful.

Cyber bullying is defined by the law as the bullying of minor children.
Cyber harassment is the term used for adults.
Just wanted to clear that up since I see the term misused all the time on Topix.

Bela Lugosi was one of my all time favorite actors. You are no Bela Lugosi!(LOL)

Just a little rewording of LLoyd Bentsen's comment to Dan Quayle in the 1988 VP debate about JFK. You remind me of Dan Quayle as he reminded me of a little boy trying to do a man's job. GHW Bush was very fortunate he didn't cost him the election in 1988. Bela lugosi, unlike you, was a very impressive looking man.

For somebody who has had posts of hers removed by the mods earlier for being so stupidly vulgar, I wouldn't talk if I were you. I once defended you against what I thought were unfair things that were said about you and you show your appreciation by deciding it was more important to please a few two bit trolls with you antagonistic posting against me than to show a little gratitude. You are the textbook definition of an ingrate.

I've never seen that kind of behavior
out of anyone on that thread that I can recall.
What really gets me tho is this.
I'm pretty unconventional. I don't "fit in"
with any one group.
I'm too liberal to be conservative, too conservative
to be a liberal.
I don't agree w/established religion.
I love to debate a subject that I feel passionately
about like abortion, politics, religion, gay
marriage....I'm an advocate for pit bulls...lol
Lets just say I rub most ppl the wrong way.
Yet in over 8 yrs of posting on some pretty rough
boards I've never been trolled.
Wouldn't you think I'D be the person everyone
jumps to troll?
That explanation was a bit limp. Like you, I am also in the political center and catch hell from both extremes. I think the real difference between us is that you are far more willing to sacrifice right or wrong for being popular with certain posters. If there was something I could say or do to become popular with the ones who currently troll me, I wouldn't compromise my principles to do so which is our biggest difference between us. Actually, I could consider peace with them as long as I didn't have to compromise my principles, but I would feel like I was lowering myself if I ever cowtowed to some of their more despicable ways.

Pardon me. Are you saying this fellow goes to gay threads and harasses them? Why would anyone do that? That is so vulgar.
Before you get too carried away with this, perhaps you need know a few things. First, those quotes were just a very brash quote made after another poster accused me of being gay and I made an overstatement to counter it. Let me just say that I have actually made a cyberfriends with a couple of the gay people who are generally fair with their posting and show reasonable respect for those who will show them the same respect. I didn't go there to harass the gays. I went there to stand up for what I believe in. I have since taken a more live and let live approach to legally consenting adults. I am still vigorously opposed to lowering ages of consent, gay or straight. I also believe those who knowingly spread HIV should be severely punished whether they are gay or not. I don't support gay marriage, but I have no plans to actively lobby against it. As far as giving certain gays hell is concerned, that was reserved only for a few particularly obnoxious ones such as Mona Lott (actually a male) and Curteese. I have had some cordial exchanges of posts with a number of them. I no longer make a practice of arguing on GLTB threads as I found it totally unproductive. Lets just say that a certain poster did present a distorted picture of this. as far as the Kaitlyn Hunt incident is concerned, I consider it a statutory rape issue and not a GLTB issue.

I have to agree with the poster that said, "it is only a problem if you allow it to be, and yourself to be bullied".
That is only true to a point. If it is truly just words, and two anonymous monikers having it out, then I would say that. That is why I said earlier that I believe there should be an offline component for it to truly be cyberbullying. If something starts online and stays online, then it usually isn't that bad. But, the real problem is when it was already started offline and the Internet is used as another weapon to take down a bullying target, or when online battles end up being fought in the streets, the workplace, or on someone's property. One bad part of cyberbullying is things are put online to deeply embarrass someone, make them lose face, and cause people to bully them in real and drive them to suicide. Often, online is where offline bullies recruit other bullies to target the same individual.

Lot of times, it isn't the words themselves. It is the fact that *others* besides the original bully believe what was said and take physical action against the target. If it were just 2 people disagreeing or mutually insulting each other, there would be no issue. But the biggest problem here is defamation and setting up people to be targeted for discrimination and violence in real life.

I myself do my best to do damage control when targeted, and I will always answer bullies and bigots. It is not because I care what they think. I don't, well, not much. That is not the issue. I challenge what was said mainly for the benefit of the audience. These types rarely strike alone. They are out to impress others. The others may believe their side and act upon it if it isn't challenged. Sure, you "can't fix stupid," but you can preach to their audience and persuade them not to go along with those saying stupid things about you. That removes the power from the person since they would have nobody to influence. Court cases are sometimes decided on the basis that someone took the stand in their own defense. I know, judges warn juries not to take that into account, but you know human nature. So apply that to bullying. The bully/bigot is the judge, and their audience is the jury. Just like in a real court, the judge has no more power than the DA and jury give them. If the DA pulls the case or the jury finds someone "not guilty," then there is nothing a judge can do. So you don't convince the bully, but others.
