It is nuts to downsize your flagship product. The customers are some tough cookies.

What irks me is those "fun size" candy bars. They have even gotten smaller, and what the hell makes them fun? Am I wrong? Isn't it more fun to have a big candy bar?

Oh the inhumanity of it all!

Too true.
It takes at least eight "fun size" bars to make up a real bar.

My stepfather once took me golfing at Indian Hills Country Club in Winnetka. I hate golf and ONLY went because I knew that Brian Doyle Murray and Bill Murray used to caddy there.

I hate that 'sneaky' stuff, if you're gonna raise the price - at least have the cajones to do that. No, instead they give you way less for the same price..maybe thinking we won't notice?

Snickers is my first love in life, it is especially good when melted and drizzled over ice cream

Did you know that in the UK what we know as the Snickers Bar is known as the Marathon Bar?

And what we call the Milky Way bar is known as the Mars Bar"

Supposedly Forrest Mars, the son of the company's founder, Frank Mars, got all mixed up when he was brought the recepies to their UK operation.

And did you know that in parts of the UK they actually deep fry these candy bars at Fish and Chip shops? Sounds like a healthy snack, doesn't it?

They deep fry something at the State Fair each year - snickers, twinkies, etc. Ah, there's not enough fat in this so let's deep FRY it!

"Mars UK claimed the switch to smaller sizes was designed to help tackle the nation's obesity crisis".

Sure! Amazing they didn't think about "the nation's obesity crisis" until it became a way to spin their own self-interest.

Companies making non-food items (like laundry detergent) are also shrinking their package sizes. You have to wonder what spin they are using when they get caught.

I didn't know that, but I do know the Marathon bar here is a peanut brittle bar, no chocolate.
