When people die, the bond between the soul and the human body is severed. When the soul's connection to the material world is severed, the soul is free to go and dwell in the spiritual realm, which would include places like Heaven. A soul cannot be detected with instruments designed to detect physical properties such as mass and energy so its currently impossible to get the evidence of a soul's existance.
Perhaps one day somebody will design and build an instrument that can detect the properties of spirits.
Scientist are a funny lot...if they did make an instrument to detect it, they would make up some new name for it like LIFEb727 and claimed that it was a new discovery unheard of until now...lol

I believe that since humans are the only animals with a soul, it is the soul that is constantly altering our DNA and making us evolve into a creature that will barely resemble the original human beings that inhabited the Earth when our race first started some 2 million years ago.
Since God is the one who creates souls and bonds them to the animals known as human beings, He is responsible for mankind becoming the most intelligent and evolved beings on Earth.
Look at sharks and crocodiles, they are both hundreds of millions of years old, yet they have changed very little over this time period. Its because they don't have souls.
Wake up dude, there is no such thing as a soul...it's just religious crap.

Many people took pilgrimages to that fence, and abandoned crutches and wheelchairs accumulated.
But then a workman washed the whitewash off and found that it wasn't Jesus, it was Willy Nelson.
At that point, the crutches and wheelchairs stopped accumulating.

Sacrifices is truly an idea that evades me.
Really?? God seemed to need a human sacrifice to make us 'right' with Him. And in the early days he wanted goats and sheep.

This really leads me to think the whole shebang is made up crap.

What is the evidence for the existence of a "soul"?

I started to say "350,000," since that is the estimate of the number killed in Hiroshima.
But what did President Truman say afterward? He said, "We may be grateful to Providence."

Where does the Bible say that other animals don't have souls?
The originator of this folk song didn't seem to think so:

Well I had an old dog and his name was Blue
I bet you five dollars he's a good dog too
Old Blue chased a possum up a holler limb
The possum growled, Blue whined at him
Bye Bye Blue, you good dog you

When old Blue died he died so hard
He shook the ground in my back yard
We lowered him down with a golden chain
and every link we called his name

My old Blue was a good old hound
You'd hear him holler miles around
When I get to heaven first thing I'll do
is grab my horn and call for Blue

The species which evolve the most are the ones which undergo the most stress which they could overcome.
If what you say about sharks and crocodiles is true, then sharks and crocodiles have not undergone much stress which made evolution necessary for survival.
On the other hand, if a population undergoes stress which it CANNOT overcome, that population goes extinct.
Apparently, that is what happened to the trilobites.

Polar bears are descended from dark-colored bears which happened to get caught on the wrong side of the glacier.
At first, they were readily visible by their prey. So the darker colored bears died of starvation, leaving the gene pool open for the lighter colored members.

I would even say that you had faith in the bible...the killing part anyway, because you except it without question.
Which I would definitely call faith.
Never even stopped to consider did you?
wherein lies your true faith...can you deny?
think about it.
Wow.

What a dumb argument.

So how do explain hair loss? Why did early humans lose their hair and then hunt for fur to keep warm?
