Then what was the first man to create a flint tool... an engineer?
On the other hand, engineers by todays standards are not scientists, though they do make use of scientific principles. But back during the days when we were just making weapons out of stone and wood we didn't have long-standing definitions of these things. Back then it was just "people who tinkered around with stuff".

As for the flood it happened. Most likely it is the flooding of the Black Sea by the Mediterranean. To the ancients living there that was pretty much the entire world.
Same with a LOT of large local floods. To many frightened or superstitious people it probably seemed like the end of the world. And for those who died in them it was.

The thing with many of these old flood stories is that they may not all have necessarily been rooted in the exact same flood event.

The last time I checked a logic textbook,~~p = p
Care to explain where there is "no identity property" in what I wrote?

do you believe that the killings in the bible were real?
Depends on which ones have historical evidence to support it. In the case of the Amalekites it depends on whether or not they were a purely fictionalized boogey-man invented for Biblical story purposes, or whether they were peoples like the Amorites and Canaanites. In which case religious wars were kind of a thing back then with all religions.

Yes. Read again what was written: "Rejection of the state religion was tantamount to treason. This was the context for Rome's conflict with Christianity, which Romans variously regarded as a form of atheism and novel superstitio."
Charles Idemi wrote:
Treason? So, Emperor Constantine who gave the mandate commited treason, how?
Constantine's predecessor, Galerius, had already changed state policy to tolerate Christianity.

You really do need to do some basic historical research before you engage in debate.

No, the question was if you believed your bible.
ahhh... so you do believe.

I would even say that you had faith in the bible...the killing part anyway, because you except it without question.
Which I would definitely call faith.

Never even stopped to consider did you?
wherein lies your true faith...can you deny?

Good thing you didn't (whatever changed your mind to post rationally for a change, rather than delusionally-ah never mind on that) because had you have done that, you would've been EXTREMELY, 100 percentely nutcasedly ou of line.

As well as WRONG---since there was NOTHING posted to even warrant such a childish insulting name calling statement.

I merely posted a sociological definition of a personality disorder, as reiterated from one of my favorite links-pubmed.

Which is what it is-a pretty informative web site.

Still not answering the question:

Do you believe your bible displays an accurate reality?

No, that would be a dietary, customary tradition.

Unless one only wanted to invoke "feral pig" (latin Origin:

I wasn't just using her conversation with Charles Demi. I summed it up based on all her responses to me. So she thinks she's the more intellectual, and more sane, and the more objective. She loves pointing out fallacies when she so loves ad homs.

How do you define Christian? People who literally believe in... or anyone raised "in a Christian household"?
As for the flood it happened. Most likely it is the flooding of the Black Sea by the Mediterranean. To the ancients living there that was pretty much the entire world. The story was then passed down through oral tradition for many centuries... probably embellished more by each generation until...
Yes, of course the Black Sea flood probably happened...no argument there at all...but it was NOT the flood that the Bible describes. What I believe, and the facts back me up, is there was no Noachian flood as described in the Bible. You know like not world-wide, no samples crammed on an Ark of every lifeform on earth, not killing 20 million people, that sort of flood.

So if you're claiming this was the Noachian flood then the whole Biblical story is wrong...just like I have been saying for 30 years.
