It seems that we are debating a rather uneven argument here. To be fair both sides should be willing to post their beliefs, why they carry those beliefs, and what evidence they can show that supports those beliefs. So far the creationists have not been holding up their end at all. Many, like President Starky and woofy are afraid to state clearly what they believe and why. I did get woofy to admit that he thought sedimentary rocks came from the flood but after I showed him why that was wrong I have not heard anything from him. The most I have got out of Starky was that the world was created, as if that was an answer. When was it created? Was there an order of created life? How old is the Earth. If the Earth and the universe are not billions of years old why do they look that way?

Second they practically never offer any evidence of creation. They make the mistake of assuming that negating evolution is positing creation, it of course is not.

So are there any creationists out there who is not so ashamed of what they believe that they will state clearly how they believe the universe came about? Do they have any evidence to support this belief? Why do the have this belief? I will gladly offer the same sort of answers about my beliefs.

You see I am not ashamed of what I believe in.

<quoted text>From Jerry Coyne's blog; "Why Evolution is True"

“Over at the Templeton-funded BioLogos website there has been a lot of discussion about the historicity of Adam and Eve. This is a problem because scripture claims these two were the progenitors of humanity, but genetics says otherwise. It’s simply not true that all of humanity’s DNA traces back to a pair of individuals who lived no more than 10,000 years ago; indeed, the different bits of our DNA trace back to different ancestors who lived at different times. What’s clear is that our ancestors were in a population of humans, some of whom left Africa around 60,000 years ago, and virtually all of modern human DNA comes from that population, which itself descended from African ancestors who split off about 6 million years ago from the ancestors of modern chimps.”
http://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2010/...

*****

And at BioLogos
“This third independent method tells us that everyone alive today is related, but not to a single pair of people. We are related to a population that consisted of several thousand people with their several thousand combinations of these million genetic differences.

Here’s the real point of this. When you have one way of doing a calculation and you get a certain answer, perhaps you are justified in being a little skeptical. Perhaps you made a mathematical mistake, or maybe you made a faulty assumption. However, when you do your calculation using two totally different approaches, using methods with completely different assumptions, and each method gives you the same answer, you become convinced it is correct. Three, of course is just icing on the cake.

So that’s the situation we are in with regard to the human population size in ancient history. There was a bottleneck. There were likely fewer people alive during that time than the number of fans attending a typical NHL hockey game.(We don’t know if they were all together in one village, of course, but the total was small.) However, it was NOT two people. Our species diverged as a population. The data are absolutely clear about that.”
http://biologos.org/blog/does-genetics-point-...

The consensus among real scientists whose field relates to this question are of one voice...Adam and Eve, as written in the Bible, did not exist.

This fact above really eats into the Christian dogma. If no Adam and Eve, what need was there for Jesus. We already have a building pile of evidence against the Biblical Jesus.
Not a fact, just opinions.

You only have a pile of guesses and opinions.

God created the heaven and earth, and all life on earth. All in 6 days.

Of course you have a burden of proof. Only idiots make that sort of claim, oh wait, sorry. When scientists say that life evolved we have a burden of proof to show that occurred. Scientists have more than met that burden. When you claim that there is a god, let alone your particular god, you have a burden of proof to show that there is one.

Evolution as a theory could not care less about the existence of god just like gravity as a theory could not care less about the existence of god. Neither theory proves or disproves the existence of god.

Certain religious extremists are the only ones who have trouble with evolution and that is because it contradicts campfire stories told by bronze age camel humpers. These are the same religious extremists who had a cow when Galileo had the guts to say that the Earth moved. And as we see from Langoliers next post they have not advanced very much since then.

1. Wrong, try again. That is the history of the world as shown by evidence, it is not a "belief".
2 Nope, wrong. Try again. If you are going to claim something is an atheist view point you have to at least make it reasonable.
3. No, we can prove by your standards that the Atheist morals are stronger than Christian morals.
4.No, again that is the scientific narrative. You don't have to believe that the big bang occurred to be an atheist.. You need to learn the difference between science and personal belief. It seems that you are jealous of atheists since most of them do believe the scientific narrative. Again, there are atheists who could not care less about the scientific narrative, they don't believe in gods for their own reasons.
5. No, atheism does not state that life has no meaning. In fact life has more meaning for an atheist than for most theists. We know that you only get one shot at life so you better get it right.
bohart, besides not understanding evolution it is obvious that you do not understand atheism either. No wonder you get the two of them confused.
You didn't need to type all that, just dive into denial and yell liar like you and all your ilk inevitably do.

Your first sentence is correct. Creationists rely on faith. Faith is the belief in something without any supporting evidence.

Your second sentence is wrong since your first two words do not go together. Evolution is not a religion no matter how many times you repeat that lie. Then the next second is wrong too. Evolutionists do not rely on destroying faith. They don't give two figs for faith. They rely on evidence and logic and the scientific method.

And faith loses every time. Faith disputed even Galileo's simple findings that the Earth goes around the Sun. Science has taken us to the Moon, to Mars and beyond.

Science wins over faith every time. Remember that if you ever get cancer or an antibiotic resistant bacteria. Without science you will be up shit creek without a paddle.
