The weather has always been a unavoidable part of the news and an interesting hot/cold, wet/dry topic for many. Would you like to discuss the weather you've experienced and how it affected your life at one time or another?

I'll start with this story. I was living in New England and a snow storm came in. From the second floor I looked out my window and thought someone had stolen my car. Upon closer inspection I noticed the car was there, but the antenna was the only thing visible.

Hurricane irene was the worst weather I've lived through. It was the first hurricane to hit the northeast in at least 50 years. In the Schoharie Valley where I live, record flooding destroyed a 156 year old bridge, which was a national landmark and the longest single-span covered bridge in the world. The Gilboa dam was BREACHED (which means the water just went over the top), but many news stations claimed the dam failed, throwing panic all over upstate NY. CNN even aired a story all over the US that the dam broke. FEMA didn't supply housing or aid for months. Governor Cuomo was amazed by the devastation here (some of he worst in the northeast). When I woke up, I didn't know what to expect. Would I ever even wake up? Was I dead, my family too, washed away by waters even Noah couldn't imagine? I did wake up, but the devastation was still bad. Water flowed through the street, teddies and dolls washed up on lawns. Garages strewn over highways. Gas stations closed. I was thankful to be alive. I never thought that it would happen to me. I remember saying "those models are off, that won't hit us." Still driving through the county, I see some abandoned houses, or old signs saying "Go away irene" or "FEMA send me help." It makes me shiver even talking about it... Look up hurricane irene Schoharie county, ny. It's amazing, and I lived through it...

I've not lived through one, but I've heard from some that have.
Tornadoes and Hurricanes terrify me. I wouldn't have anywhere to hide if it threatened my neighborhood.

One day it was raining and I went outside and the limo driver forgot his umbrella and I got wet while going from the hotel to the car. It was one of the worst days of my life, ever.

Wow...that's worse than me walking down east 50th street near St. Patrick's in manhattan and getting stabbed in the eye with an umbrella by an Asian tourist...

I was traveling (April, 2007) from Florida to Arizona. I believe I took Highway 40 that time after a brief stay in Atlanta. For the first time ever I decided to plan my stops on this trip. I was doing the tent/camping thing so I picked what appeared great campsites.

I'm driving and it's dark and there is this most brilliant lightning storm that I'm witnessing for a couple of hours. Obviously I was listening to music and not the weather or news. I honestly hadn't given much thought to how severe the weather would be. It was bad. Every stop I had planned was washed out. Tree knocked over and it tore up some places, but good. I remember having to stop in New Mexico and it was freezing.

I kept traveling on my way, but it got expensive as I had to stay in motels instead of destined camp grounds.

What was the weather like? I was in Alaska and sat in one of the HOT springs, but the weather was fine at 7below. Smelled like rotten eggs.

One I even enjoyed a hot tub while it was snowing. It got hot under that water from what I remember.
