theres a sign in this area that reads - OMG and then whats suppose to be cracked window and blood all over.

there are a lot of idiots out there doing this, and as long as these so called laws against this aren't being enforced, only a hand full of people who have near death experiences "may" learn from it.

If that's what it takes to get the idiots off of our roads, I'm ok with it.
And stop calling me Shirley.
Well it will take more than this to get the idiots off the road. What about people stuffing their fat faces, or playing with radio, or lighting a cigarette, all distractions, kids, etc.

LYLAH....things are going great here. Hope the same for you.

not a question of being enforced .. numbers out weigh the police.... and you have to be seen [caught in the act].....

In CT there is a one hundred dollar fine if you're caught with a phone in your hand while driving and it is enforced.

They had that problem here so now the law sets up covert check-points sometimes, purely to catch out those texting or using their phone while driving....amazing how many they still catch!

In NYS texting/talking while driving will add 5 points to your license and fines ranging from $50 to $400. If you're a junior driver or have a permit, it gets suspended for 60 days for first offense & 6 months for second offence.

That being said, I passed a car that was weaving in his lane back and forth between the lines, as I was driving past I noticed he was holding a tablet in his hands on the steering wheel & watching TV.

I personally feel one something like that happens, their insurance company should refuse to pay. Being stupid enough to do anything with a cell phone while driving should make you uninsured! When I drive I turn my cell phone OFF I don't even want to hear it ring or anything, my dad got me in that habit when he was teaching me to drive. Nothing anyone has to say/text is that important people! That's why God created voicemail, and the next time you turn on the phone your texts will come through then.
