Mother nature is changing the scenery. The 'colors' have begun ...
Sassafras are yellow, red, and orange
Hickorys are light green, yellow, and dropping shells everywhere.
The Ol'Oaks are hanging in there in green
Poison Oak is turning red like I've never seen it do
Sycamores are dropping bark like crazy and changing to a bright yellow
=*= in 4 weeks-by the end of October you won't recognize this place =*=
Maples are really messing with me this fall dropping all those leaves on my roof
and filling 'my' gutters,'i' don't know what their getting even for, I've been good 2'm!

In New England, we like to believe that Fall is our best season....

It's our most sunniest season..with brilliant blue skies with the right amount of abundant sunshine.with a hint of crispness..and nights which make us want to snuggle/cuddle up with our loved ones.

I always say it is nature putting on a colorful grand finale before the curtain comes down for a long winter's nap.

We here in New England are blessed that Mother Nature makes this grand finale to be a long standing one and we native inhabitants and our guests are greatly appreciative!!

My grandson needed colored leaves for a school project. His Mom and I took him out to collect as many as possible in an hours time. WOW!!! We had a bag full. All shapes, sizes and colors.

Winter means roasted chestnuts. Roasted chestnut season is my favourite season. I buy a bag everytime I go ice skating.

No construction paper - we use the real things.

How do you fix the Chestnuts so they are edible?

Love the crisp cool air of Autumn and I can start wearing boots again... fragrant scents of pumpkin and spice, falling leaves, apple cider, ginger snaps, hot chocolate and Halloween. Love this time of year. Hope Winter isn't too bad this year. I don't mind the snow as much, but ice storms can be treacherous and scary.

I remember learning a poem when I was in school it goes like this...

Sung to the Yellow Rose of Texas tune...

October gave a party
the leaves by hundreds came
the chestnuts oaks and maples
and leaves of everyname

Sorry, this is all I remember...
