I also use Waterfox and Tor. I liked IE 6, but then it tried to turn into a Firefox clone and sucked at it.

Chrome is much faster than Firefox when it comes to media.

So what if Google "spied" on you. Like I said, you can disable much of that crap, turn off location data, etc. As long as you have nothing to hide, that is not a risk.

Like I said, it is open source. So if you hate it, take its source and make your own project fork.

And you keep on repeating the crap about "default settings." No, Chrome is actually faster and can be tweaked even faster. But Firefox still sucks after you change the settings to nonstandard stuff that is not RFC compliant. I can use the same tricks to speed up IE using the system registry. Keeping 2 connections open is industry standard, but keeping 10 open will speed up Firefox and IE.

It is neither absurd nor insulting. It raises awareness. We shouldn't have to protect ourselves from ads that damage or slow our PC any more than a woman (or man for that matter) should have to protect herself from rape. Both should be the job for society, not the individual. Just like men shouldn't be jamming things inside people who don't want it, the companies shouldn't be jamming unwanted things inside our computers. Try jamming unwanted code in the wrong person's computer, and you are likely to end up with a virus or hacked. Same with the rape metaphor - rape the wrong person and end up getting sick or getting it hacked off. I read where a rapist received some poetic justice after raping a HIV+ woman. I just hope he never rapes anyone else, or he will be spreading the virus.
When you tell someone to download something just because they complain about popups, you are being immoral and blaming the victim. When most women complain, they are not asking for a man to degrade and disrespect them by giving advice or telling how to fix the problem. No, they are simply bonding and expecting empathy back, not asking for a fix, a lecture, or told it is their fault. Most women complain to bond with each other and to vent. They don't want it fixed - talking about it fixes it enough and removes the need to fix it. But men love raping women's minds with unwanted "advice."
Example comment: "I hate the ads."
Correct and empathetic response like women are smart enough to give: "I hate them too."
Victim-blaming and hateful response as men are stupid enough to give: "Install a blocker and STFU."
You're so far off in left field. None of us are victims of ads. We all choose to come here so it is our fault we are subjected to them. We don't own a web sight. Others do and it is theirs do what they wish with it. As a person who has a victim of a brutal rape in my family I am severely disappointed in your scope of empathy and value of other people that you would consider them to be comparable to a simple consumer good electronic. Your computer is just an object and it is up to you to protect all your objects. Same thing goes about your personal information. Your computer can be fixed or replaced. A persons trust, dignity, right to live without fear, and sense of strength is forever damaged after a rape.
Go ask a rape victim if they would rather have suffered a pop up ad or even a computer virus and without batting an eye they will answer hell yes. Now go ask someone if they would rather have been raped instead of having a pop up ad or even a computer virus and without batting an eye they will say hell no.

Still, it is wrong for you to tell everyone they have to install something just because they merely mention they don't like them.

And if choosing to come here is all that is needed to make it right for them to put computer-damaging ads up, then why isn't a walk in the park seen as an invitation to get robbed, raped, or whatever? Either we should have the right to avoid problems without taking action in all circumstances, or none.

My metaphor was only to point out your double standards and hypocrisy.

It is their right to do what they please with what they own. Liberty and freedom are theirs as well. You probably feel slighted that you have to pay for your internet connection as well???

I'm not telling anyone they HAVE to do anything. I'm only giving them advice on how to control their own browsing and recommending tools on how to alleviate their annoyances. If you don't choose to accept the solutions that completely eliminate your problems then don't complain.
Your metaphor is based on a flawed premise so your whole logic in it has to be disregarded.
A walk in the park is not an invitation to rape.
When you invite yourself on to a privately owned website you are inviting someone to show you an ad. Ads are not malicious in and of themselves. It is similar to when you buy cheap knock-off products from a shady back alley, when you get garbage it is your own fault.
Your even more of base when you recommend Chrome. For when you download Chrome from google you just invited google to do a spy on you the moment you clicked download.
The ads on site like topix or youtube are not really dangerous. Ads on some less reputable sites can be. That is why you should protect yourself. Just like a gun can help protect you from a violent attack in real life while at the same time having the unrelated use of recreational shooting. An extension like ad block can help protect you from the unscrupulous sites, it also has the unrelated benefit of recreational browsing on non-malicious sites like Topix and Youtube.
This is the internet and it is an ugly ugly place. Coming on to it without using the tools of protection is like going into a prison full of violent rapist naked and screaming "have sex with me" and then acting like you're still a victim.

Trust me all in all I would love too. A world without any computers and no internet would be awesome. It is not a fantasy. Just do the right thing and cripple the abusive companies, not abuse and patronize their users. It doesn't matter who owns the sites. Right and wrong is universal. I never said no ads, just NO intrusive or damaging ads. It is THEIR responsibility, not mine. I shouldn't need to dress down to go outside, avoid being out late at night, or have to install something to protect me from what should never be used to begin with.

I have a right to mention my browser in passing or to complain about certain ads without abusive pricks mentioning blockers and crap. You are an equal person, so you MUST side with the public and AGAINST the establishment. Rights belong to individuals, not sites. To say that ANYONE should use a blocker is like saying a woman must not wear certain clothes nor be out late at night. It is another version of the IMMORAL practice of victim blaming that nearly every man does.

Society won't be good or fair until male values are eliminated, until men realize they are the inferior gender, and until men are penalized down to the level of women. Telling a person to use a blocker when they MERELY complain as a way to bond with others is another type of victim blaming. Victim blaming is another type of rape, and you being a man, everything you do is one type of rape or another.

Men are the only cause of war. Reduce the population of people born with the filthy rape tool, the sick need to compete, the sick need to "fix things" to feel alive, the sick need to bully, the excessive need to sex down to 10% of what it is now, and we will have world peace. Like why do men fight in wars? Is it really to be "patriotic," or is it because a violent rapist and murderer has this sick need to dominate, compete, kill, etc? Most "war heroes" are really just murderers (that is the reason to join the military, to get to murder without consequences), psychopaths, control freaks (every soldier has a sick and stupid need to dress in an anal retentive, control freak way, and they bring that poison home after wars) and rapists (Abu Ghraib), but in the context of war, we give them medals and promotions rather than life behind bars. If you want to do any of the sick things that every soldier does, you should be euthanized from an early age. "Oh, they save us from tyrants!" Yes, by being bigger tyrants. But if nobody had such filthy, disgusting predator values in the first place, more of this same poison wouldn't be needed.

OHHHH O.K. Your part of the " If your not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about crowd". The same crowd who thinks that surveillance cameras on every street corner and the NSA recording every move that people make is just fine too. I don't use Microsoft's sight. Sure Mozilla knows When your on their site. Thing that makes them much much different than Google is that they don't take information from you, save it without your consent, and then distribute it to whoever wants. Google does when you download Chrome. I get it you like it. Lot's of people do. If you don't mind the shady practices of it's developer then go ahead and use it. Thing is though FF is plenty fast and in most cases just as fast. Not to mention it has better security and customization and user interfaces than Chrome. Speed is not everything especially today when the differences in speed are so small. In all truthfulness I like Opera the best. You talk about the Firefox cult? In my opinion it is Chrome that has this tunnel vision cult around it. People who worship are always saying the same thing: its faster, its faster, its faster. So what no browser is slow in all actuality and it is only slightly faster than firefox and only on some sights. Plus if all you want speed get Opera. Me I like Opera for the speed( use it when streaming video mostly) and Firefox for the huge amount of support it has and the abilities it grants me. I'm done though. Go ahead and say something. You can have the last word. I don't really care to change your opinion about browsers like some Fanboy on Youtube. Especially since this started because you tried to put me down for trying to help people solve something that was bothering them. You bash me for recommending real life solutions to people ( who keep thanking me over and over for the tip) when I'm 99% sure you use the same extensions.

Well the ads on Topix are not damaging they are just annoying. I get it . You're just another bitter man hating, marxist, feminist. Men are the only cause of war??? What a joke everything men do is to impress a woman. To attract them. So you are just as much a part of it. This post shows your as nuts as the day is long. Rites do belong to people. It just so happens a fundamental right is to do what they want with the goods and businesses they create. Take your globalist NWO mumbo-jumbo to the EU.
