Eliminate tax exempt status PERIOD "WE" are 17 Trillion Plus in debt, by passing a mandate that all tax exempt
organizations be charged a 'flat' tax and using 100% of this revenue to pay the debt down we benefit all Americans. I can't think of a better cause (including any and all charities) for this money to go to.
Think of the billions of dollars that would be taxed in the next presidential election alone.
I would bet we would be out of debt in the next 12 to 15 years providing congress does their part on other matters
Eliminating wasteful spending by all government entities could equal or exceed this amount.
Eliminate all expenditures on foreign countries until our budget comes within the GDP.
Eliminate all subsidies for oil and natural gas companies.
Eliminate the IRS
Dissolve the Federal Reserve

'i'd call it Nation Building!

For nation-building in the sense of enhancing the capacity of state institutions, building state-society relations.

Nation-building refers to the process of constructing or structuring a national identity using the power of the state. This process aims at the unification of the people within the state so that it remains politically stable and viable in the long run. Nation-building can involve the use of propaganda (communication aimed towards influencing the attitude of the community toward some cause or position) or major infrastructure development to foster social harmony and economic growth.

"The development of behaviors, values, language, institutions and physical structures that elucidate history and culture; concretize and protect the present; and insure the future identity and independence of a nation."

Do away with income tax...as we know it. A straight 10%. No deductions, no exemptions. As a single mother who enjoys getting my earned income credit; I could learn to live without it; as long as EVERYONE else~~ including millionaires paid 10 % of their earnings.

Add on a one percent sales tax on everything bought/sold across the board.... including utilities.
Everything sold overseas is taxed.
Drug bust money is taxed.
Even people on welfare pay out of their link card....1% deduction
Section 8.......the same

EVERYONE pays into the kitty.

We could even do a dual track........Federal deficit-Social Security tax fund.....

One percent strictly for the two.

Wasteful spending in the health system has been calculated at up to $1.2 trillion of the $2.2 trillion spent in the United States, more than half of all health spending. Defensive medicine, such as redundant, inappropriate or unnecessary tests and procedures, was identified as the biggest area of excess, followed by inefficient healthcare administration and the cost of care necessitated by conditions such as obesity, which can be considered preventable by lifestyle changes.

Our Government is already reaping in big revenue taxing marijuana in just two States. The Marijuana isn't laced with chemicals or mixed with oregano or horse excrement..... Everybody wins!

Legalize prostitution. The oldest profession that can't be eradicated. Let the Government tax that as well. Tested clean hookers. Cheaper than marriage....Everybody wins!

America’s health-care entitlements—Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare—are the biggest drivers of our exploding federal debt. What you may not know is that there is a fourth program, that pays disability benefits through the Social Security Administration, that is also growing at an alarming pace. While part of that growth can be explained by the aging of the U.S. population, the largest factor in the proliferation of disability spending comes from the fact that Congress has dramatically expanded the definition of who gets called “disabled.” As a result, many able-bodied Americans have been granted government paychecks for life, crowding out our ability to direct needed resources to the genuinely infirm.

<quoted text>I thought you were going to include paychecks as an entitlement. What a scam that is!
With projections of large federal deficits for years to come, policymakers should scour the budget looking for places to cut spending. One area to find savings is the generous compensation paid to the federal government's 2.1 million civilian workers. Total wages and benefits paid to executive branch civilians will be about $248 billion in 2013, indicating that compensation is a major federal expense that can be trimmed. During the last decade, compensation of federal employees rose faster than compensation of private-sector employees. As a consequence, the average federal civilian worker now earns 74 percent more in wages and benefits than the average worker in the U.S. private sector.

Why do you hate capitalism? Why do you hate the American dream? Why can't you see that the glass for government workers isn't "too full" at half full and that instead of emptying it, we should fill up the emptying glass of the private sector? Also, why do you write like a bot?
Take your time. Use your own words.
Government workers glass is overflowing. Dependence on government is never a good thing........

Well it's actually simple, though it will never happen; stop living beyond our means! Stop spending more than we have. it's just a much larger scale of what happens in individual households, except that people can declare bankruptcy – and when the US ends up doing that, because it is inevitable I think, well that will be the ultimate "Great Depression" the total crash of our economy, and our society. The American people are spoiled (yes, and I'm one of them) where we want everything even though we can't afford it, and that's combined with the US government spending more money than they have on foreign aid and things other than the upkeep of our own nation. The whole Foreign Aid concept reminds me of the puny little kid on the school playground, tries to buy friends with his lunch money.
Frame it!
