Good morning Red. Nice to hear your Friday was good. My DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is getting better, should be ready to kick ass again soon. I think the risk of a blood clot breaking off and killing me is going down faster now. I told an old friend from Kihei Canoe Club (I paddled with them for 5 years religiously- about as religious as I get. lol) that I would go down and help take food and camping gear from the escort boats to the beach this morning. I think they should be getting to Lanai about 8 or 9 this morning. That friend,'Kimokeo' has organized canoe voyages through the Hawaiian islands and up the chain, I think all the way to Midway Island. He brought a group of Japanese paddlers through a couple of weeks ago and I helped them a little. They are getting ready to paddle around Japan and between some islands there, a big deal, I think. The paddlers today will be mostly women, I think, they have been the last 3 years. It's called "Paddle For Life", sponsered by the Pacific Cancer Foundation- mostly for breast cancer, at least it was the first couple of years, but maybe they're making it cover all kinds of cancer this year. I'm hoping to see some old friends this morning, but membership changes quite a bit over there on Maui, I left there in 2005. Hi Fish, oh not such a bad day, rain has stopped and it's a bit brighter out. Be nice to see the sun shine. The temp is warm which is a treat. Yesterday was a miserable day, lots of rain, wind and cold! Hope your day is fabulous!:^) |

So nice when it's quiet in here, the fire crackles & snaps, lovely smell and wonderful warmth. Next best thing to being outside by the fire pit. |
