What would you have done different Denny. Stop paying for the wars, no bailouts etc..

It's easy to sit in Texas and pass judgement when you or me really don't knows whats going on In Washington.

Except for the seven times Reagan raised taxes, he never raised taxes. Ask any republican if Reagan raised taxes.

No, and I looked, too. However, they sourced from Reagan's speeches, so it should be safe.

Darlin Washington doesn't know what is going on in Washington :) You know the funny names like a pride of lions. Well a group of Baboons is called a congress of Baboons :) No joke. That is the correct term. I know one thing that would have turned the country around a lot faster for less money. No Capital gains tax and no federal income tax. That would have brought the economy roaring back. But all the grants and sweetheart loans were political pay back to Obama supporters. I remember when Jessy Jackson said he wanted to cut off Obama's nuts. He wasn't talking about his testicles he was talking about his supporters :)I am a libertarian. I don't like the government even when Republicans are running it. I just think Republicans will send us to the poor house slower

I think it will be a long time before we see a REP back in the White House. I think 2014 will get rid of alot of them also.
They are to extreme.

Look at all the money we could have used for the economy, the millions upon millions to get Obama out.

America didn't want him out...

He won so the case is over. Watch for the Republicans to gain serious ground just like they did in 2010. I love the Democrats are going after guns. When I see the run on the gun stores for guns and ammo I am reminded of what Clinton did to the Democrat party over his gun ban. Plenty of Democrats are gun owners

I don't think thats going to happen Denny. I think you'll see more Dems win seats..

Rep party is broken and going in ten different directions. Nobody knows what the hell they stand for only what they stand against...Obama.

It's not just the Dems going after guns. And you're right Dems own guns and some feel like you do about the new proposed gun laws.

I own guns but thank god I'm an Independent.

Both parties make me sick...

You're right about the GOP being fractured. They haven't decisively won an election since Bush senior. Even with the current gerrymandering they will probably find a way to screw up again in '16. They were so sure they were going to win last November because they controlled the voting machines...

<quoted text>I guess you are right. Damn Jimmy Carter. It is all his fault. Regan didn't blame Carter. He fixed the problem
"The problems we inherited were far worse than most inside and out of government had expected; the recession was deeper than most inside and out of government had predicted. Curing those problems has taken more time and a higher toll than any of us wanted."

Ronald Reagan 1982 State of the Union Address...

It looks like hes blaming Carter to me...

This thread now begs the new poll question ...... Is Obama, more or less stupid than the people who voted for him?

I think to ask that question now is a little premature considering he has 4 years left in office. Failure or success of his policies over the next four years will shape how people view him. I look at this...the stock market right now is hovering at 14000 points and his higher than its been in 5 years. Its amusing to me that those that blamed him for the recession dont give him any credit for the rebound when in reality he had nothing to do with either.
