On the other hand I kinda believe if somebody would commit suicide then somehow (Karma, God or something) just throws you immediately right back onto this world to accomplish whatever it is that our purpose was..... Just sayin.. 8)
Hello Darlin' nice to read you!
So funny you brought this up...
no more than a week past
I was discussing this thread and
that very thing with my little cousin .
That was her view too.

What is the word.... two = confirmation?

I wonder about "the loop"
Having had memories of at least
two past lives since childhood.
Suppose anyone who has ever heard of karma does.

We don't know if pain and suffering
was/is a pay for a life previously lead...
Still seems a bit unfair to not be aware,
but then maybe that is hell ?

And those who have a fabulous golden life
filled with all things wonderful
despite being rotten people?
Perhaps that is karma earned for good past lives?
LOL.

Hum, lots of food for thought.

Personally, I'm for self-euthanasia
in cases of extreme pain and suffering.

Mental anguish, anger, revenge,
escape from a guilty conscience or a lousy life,
not so much.

Those thoughts, events or circumstances
can always change.

Some of the worse things that have happened in my life,
lead to better and greater things down the road.
Things that I would not have had if I chose
to exit stage left when the temptation was at it's peak.

This is why I feel so much towards our Dan here.....

Blessing to y'all both too Dear hearts.

Will try to catch up later,
have to go, RW calling....

Please write a statement that covers all situations; I'd like to read it.

No, suicide is an aggressive violent act of self murder; never mild. Help people who survive live; don't justify suicide, there is no justification.

danclark wrote:
yes I agree life is valuable. Just look at the news and discover how life is treated. Wars, crime and large companies don't care who is dying or have died. where is the compassion for life among those entities?
All over, I've found every individual acts as compassionately as possible. Many institution have ruled for compassion. When government moves toward compassion, there is always disaster.

people who lost income, forrclosures on homes putting people on the streets, those already homeless. wheres the help for them and thier lives?
There's welfare, food stamps and more programs than you could name. With luck, danclark's hypothetical person on the street can't speak English; the keys to the fortune...

Get a job and buy your own healthcare; quit your whining. Anybody can go into a hospital emergency room, everyone can find health care.

Get a job and buy something to eat, learn to fish or hunt. Don't depend on the government to provide.

danclark wrote:
so what happens? Some do suicide because no one valued thier life enough, know they're not wanted in this world, so they end it.
That's pathetic, value your own life or nobody else will. That's the weakest excuse for suicide I've ever heard; shameful.

Not famous? I guess there's no choice, "they're not wanted in this world, so they end it." Disgusting! Suicide is selfish as much as it is violent and aggressive.

danclark wrote:

I've never called it,'taking the easy way out', I never would. It's no way out, it's only a way to death; I recommend against suicide.

I agree with you. There is nothing humane about that at all. I watched my Dad "drown" with fluid in his lungs while his body struggled to breath as he slowly died of cancer. And there wasn't anything anybody could do about it, short of giving him pain shots.
And pain medications can be respiratory system suppressants. I'm sorry over the horror of hearing a loved one drown from lung failure, but that's no reason to justify suicide. People should make their own decisions, not neighbors affected by noise.

.
skybobbie wrote:
Anybody who hasn't seen a loved one dying like that has no business preaching to us about the "right" way to die.
I'm not preaching about pain management; I'm claiming suicide is an aggressive, violent and selfish act that harms everyone.

sorry, you're wrong on several points. I know what you said but at times others will add something else to a post. Does'nt always have to be about what id said or not said in a post. Additions for others to read. Sort of a "by the way". As I said before not much support as you claim. Just go over your medical info. I have to pay 20% of everything. Being on disability and I got it because of real ailments, verified by doctors set by S.S. administtation. I can't work long enoigh to support myself. I always was a hard worker. Now what I get is non sustainable. I callef many agencies that are suppose to help people and supposedly there for that reason. Guess what? I get turned down each time. So where's all this help you claim there to be for such people? See, there's this lityle annoying thing called beauracacy, great at delaying/ denying help. Have you tried to go for that "help" listed in the various "safty nets' that are meant to assist those in need? I don't think so.

You make good argument. I ask if man drinks and his liver dies is this suicide? A man drinks and dies in a car accident is that suicide? I have deadly illness (example) I do not choose to go to doctor for easy medicine cure. I pray. I die. Did I commit suicide? Will I go to hell before the drunken man? What if I take the chemocal poison to cure the cancer. The poison kills me first. Is this suicide?

This is a painful subject and my heart goes out to anyone that has had to deal with this situation.
The family these hurting people leave behind also feel the anguish of loss although some think they are sparing family their depression.

Suicide is NOT the ONLY sin there is. God if forgiving and is we believe as the book of John tells us it does not mean we will go to hell.

<quoted text> I hear that sin is sin, none greater than another sin. If true, than suicide is equal to anyother sin we all do. Surely GOD would understand when a person is at that point and provide somekind of relief. I had a friend back in 1979 that did suicide. He got great grades in school, but grades began to decline. He got into drugs. He knew his father was strict. When his father found out about drug use, he killed himself. Now I have this other friend that got cylhmidia by unprotected sex. Before he knew what he had, claimed he would do suicide if he had AIDS. He also told me he nearly did suicide when his mother brought home a man. His father died of an anryism. So he was against her dating. He had 2 women that may have become pregnate. Still is against using protection. I think people have their strengths, varing degrees, to endure what life's problems happen. I certainly have mine. I'm on disabilty these past 12 years and live on less than $1,000/ month. Family have'nt offered me any assistance. This home is going to be foreclosed this spring. Yet I still hang onto life. I believe I know hardships. I was a caretaker for my mother for over a year. Her health rapidly declining, along with my health issues and nearby family did nothing to help. I was so worn out that visiting nurses seen my lack of sleep to the point I could no longer be a caretaker, so they removed her from home into a facility for hospice. My mother wanted yo die at home. Had I the help from family, she could have died at home. Her and my income allowed for us to live in this home 42 yrs. My mother reassurred me that one of my brothers would take me in their home. Did' nt happen. Now I face homelessness. I'm single, quiet, don't smoke, no drugs-except pain prescription and no help from family that have ample room for me. I prayed, do my best to lead a decent life. Nothing happening for me. Yet I still struggle to live in the face of difficulties.
Hang in there, homeless is not as bad as some think.....especially if you are not addicted to drugs/alcohol......this life is very brief compared to eternity....seek God sincerely....and do what you know to be right and you will be alright.......never give up.

In practical terms, I suppose it is sort of an unintentional suicide.
