Thanks Billy. I didn't know them very well, but my wife was very close to her cousin.
According to her mother, the dog wasn't the only factor in this. Seems the driver was driving at a very high rate of speed as well, based on where one of the bodies was found - in a tree several yards from the point of impact.
Geez, thats terrible. The worst part is that I suspect the driver will be let off with a slap on the wrist.

We've got a huge problem with sober drivers driving the wrong way.

From the article you quoted------- Most wrong-way drivers caught by officers are drunk.

Caught is the definitive word - many are not.

"Wrong-way drivers typically fall into two groups: confused or elderly drivers, and alcohol- or drug-impaired drivers. Most wrong-way drivers caught by officers are drunk. Many correct themselves before they're caught."

Yikes.

Old lady had a rough end to last year; besides losing her cousin, she was plowed over in a cross-walk at Walmart on Christmas Eve. That idiot was sober as well.

My sister was doing her laundry at a local laundrymat here and some old lady in a Buick forgot she had it in drive - put a nice hole in the side of the building - luckily, nobody was hurt.

Your welcome. Not much one can say to a loss like this, except sorry.
Have a nice day, to you and yours.
Thanks again HH.

Not looking for sympathy as this happened back in September, but wanted to point out that between this incident and the old lady getting run over in December, I'm beginning to be more afraid of sober drivers than I am of drunk drivers. LoL.

Have a nice day as well.

Geesh.

Maybe it's about time to come up to an organization along the lines of MADD. This one could be PASD - People Against Stupid Drivers - or something more catchy. LoL.

I think they should limit driver's licenses to 72 years old.

But of course then we'd have a splurge of casino buses on the raods.

Although the Conservatives will balk at this, the NTSB is on the right track, IMO.
