My fiance has been contacted by sponsoredwhips.com asking for a fee of $1oo.oo to sponsor his 97 Nissan in drift shows. They claim that they will pay for all parts and fee as well as gas for travel. It sounds to good to be true. Has anyone ever heard of them or had experience dealing with this company? I would love some feedback.

I hope that your claim with the BBB gets your $$ back. I am surprised how many people this place has taken money from and yet they continue to do so!

I am surprised that this place is still able to rip people off. Why hasn't something been done about them? The owners or creators should be locked up already!!

Got a call from them after I sent an application. They said the same thing to me. But asking me for $199.00. They are even asking what i want to get done. I told him, the works. He told me how it all works. Marketing their sponsors and stuff. LIke so good to be true.
I asked if I need to sign anything and if i could pay thru online or paypal, they said "no". Asking me to go to nearest post office for binstructions to pay. Got off the phone with I think "Tommy". Then searched online right quick and saw that other people experienced scam from them. Same number and same guy I guess. So when Tommy called again I told him he could just give the application to other people. Then he asked me so it's ok for you to loose large amount of money? I just told him I don't have money till friday and I can't go out right now because my boss didn't let me. He just hang up on me.
I'm happy that I researched first. Thank God.

I just got called this week about my civic, and still trying to decide. Even after reading these, and other posts, I know some of you have really have had your money taken, and others are just full of crap. For example I read a lot of stuff about carsponsorships.com and supposedly they are a scam. Well I happened to be sponsored by them a few years ago, but it was only a partial sponsorship. They send you a list of places to choose from, and you can get paid to recruit people etc. I got out of my contract early when they switched management. Were they a scam? Not really. Discounts on parts, 3 shows, it's all in the contract. Try contacting a few part manufacturers, and they will tell you they only work through carsponsorships.com . I think Vertical Doors Inc was one of them. Sponsored Whips told me it's a $199 100% refundable fee to do a drivers license, and vin# check. It's going to take about 30 days before my car even makes it to the shop. You choose your own parts, you can also choose your own shops, but they have a list of shops they work with. You get a rental car, and the sponsors pay parts and labor. Go to any 3 shows within the 2011 year. Get paid by your sponsors anytime your car is see with a logo on a website, mag, photo, etc. Now let's assume that they are charging $199 as a finders fee. As long as I get sponsored by companies, I really could care less. I think I am going to decide for myself without a forum. I have been involved with lots of companies that had crazy bad reviews in forums, and turned out it wasn't true. I don't want to give away money, but I also don't want to miss out, and see a car at a show with the SW logo and wonder what if. I am not saying this company is or isn't a scam because I don't know. I am just saying most forums, are exaggerated with more than half the people assuming off of something that they ""heard"" or ""read"". I go by the name rebirth in most forums, so if you see this again, I just want to speak my "opinion".

Oh and just in case it is or isn't a scam, I didn't speak to tom. I spoke to Jason. Once I do decide, I will update and let everyone know how it goes.(if i can remember this site) If I decide not to, I just won't post again.

Before you name call you should read the entire post. You would see that I am referring to sponsored whips which called me for a sponsorship, and that I was just using carsponsorships as an example of how things have bad names because of forums where only 5% of people know what they are talking about.
