I used to live on my motorcycle when I was younger. I mean, the Milwaukee to Sturgis run and back again - piece of cake. Now it seems the ride has escaped the rider - the back can't take much more than a 100 miles or so at a time anymore. 9 times out of 10, I end up taking the Rover instead.

What a shame.

The price of gas was $.30 when I started driving in '70. Now it is 13 times that.

The price of a home. My parents bought a brand-new, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house for $16,000.00. I paid more than that for my car.

The price of groceries. I remember a loaf of Wonder Bread, considered a premium item at $.40 @ loaf. Now it is 10 times that.

But back in 1970, it was still costing you a small fortune at the pump - even the Pinto was by today's standards a gas hog.

I had a '72 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 400 V-8. I was lucky to get 8 mpg out of that thing. I was still paying $60 a week at the pump compared to $45 a week now in my Rover.

Minimum wage was like only $1.60 an hour - Jesus...that's only $64 a week. Everything went up exponentially, IMO. What is the minimum wage now? Over $8 an hour? That's $320 a week (an increase over 1970 of 500%). Your car now gets 30 mpg, not 17 mpg like in 1970.

...wow...I had no idea you were that old...you have such relevant ideas...well for the most part...

...just asking...do you enjoy, at your age, battling it out with cyber enemies?...just wondering...your mind seems very sharp...if you can ride a 100 miles...you can be no older than 50...that's not too old...many of the people we bury or burn are at least 65...
